Um no shes won ITF's in britain, france and the USA.

Its shame Anne is better than this shes got a lot to defend soon so her ranking may drop a bit.

Its going to be interesting though with Mel and Katie on the way up we may have a three way battle for the british #1 spot and Sarah Borwell is right on their heals.

Good you're taking it this way. That girl that beat Schiavone in the first round of Wimbledon this year (can't remember her name), is she doing anything of significance at the moment?

Mel South, she won a challenger event in China just before US Open, and she went out in the qualifying round for the US Open. Nothing else to note of her lately.

Were all those your past 'tips for success' at the bottom of your screen?:haha: :haha: :haha:

Never know, perhaps you're the kiss of death. No, that's unfair.

Some good news on the horizon. My son Chip and his family are visiting London later this year and being able “health wise”, I myself will also be making the trip.:D

South had a very fluky win over Schiavone and apart from a 25K win has done nothing since. She lost to Nadja Roma in straight sets last week which says it all :tape:

Borwell is already riding on the fact she had a great grass season.

O'Brien if she can get her nerves under control could rise up nicely and has a Top 100 game but it's very questionable if she will.

Keothavong is simply not good enough.

A lucky loser no less! :tape: Poor Anne.

I think the Brits would be better to look at up-and-coming players like Naomi Cavaday and Georgie Stoop.

A lot of the Brits have actually made some progress since Wimbledon

Melanie South won a 25K in China this August.
Amanda Keen reached a 25K semi in July and a 25K final last week
Katie O'Brien reached two 25K finals in August and just won a 25K last week.

Melanie and Katie seem to run hot and cold, but Amanda Keen has shown solid consistent results since her comeback...she's the best bet to crack the top 100 IMO. Useless on clay, but can do heavy damage especially on the grass and indoors.

British tennis will never change...then again...just look at many of today's other countries that have supplied some of the games superstars...where's all the new players coming through from those countries?

that’s probably why there’s been such a resurgence in eastern bloc countries. most of those are shitholes and it’s away out for many to make lots of cash…that’s why once they’ve got into the top 10 and earned loads their form diminishes

Well this week there's 3 British Players in the top 200, which hasn't happened for a loooooong time. There's also Cavaday and a couple of other younger players who are starting to move. I think, slowly, things are getting better.
