No disrespect to any of the players, but going into this week, I wasn't expecting Bondarenko/Schiavone, Chakvedatze/Garrigues, and Sugiyama/Danilidou finals. Not only that, but the upsets were so ONE-SIDED too. Surface? Time of year? I am at a loss. Or is this not unusual????

Its getting towards the end of the season and I'm sure the motivation factor is almost kaput.

It's like a bribe basically. It's just big in the news in English football atm. :p

Mainly time of the year. It's more or less all about the slams for the big guns, so there is less motivation for them after the US Open. Historically larger upsets have happened in the fall. The "scrubs" are still motivated to get points for the rankings.
