A huge success for Aga and she'll make a big advance in the ranking :DShe won 1st set 7-5 in Warsaw too and the reason she lost the match is b/c she had fear... she wasn't herself after 1st set and run of out of gas... also thanks to that Lena raised her level of play... Aga controlled her momentum after winning 1st set and handled the situation so well... WOW! Im ecstatic for her! :worship:

I don't know, she's not as strong as Kim and doesn't have a "strking" forehand as Kim. That's one of the points she has to work on. But she's steady as a rock and as I said, you have to be on your 100% to get pass the wall. And also, she knows how to attack. We'll see how she develops because the margin is big.

Too bad for Elena she wasn't at her best today, I always cheer for Elena if she's not playing someone I REALLY like, but Aga needs already big wins and I love her too much ;)

I am wondering now if I can go tomorow and a find a place

Giving Elena a #1 seed is kind of like giving George Bush or Hugo Chavez a country to run.

It's just going to end badly, you just know it.

Well, I guess I'll spend the rest of the weekend trying to convince myself that I'm not a Lena D. fan. Of course, I'll fail miserably. If she's the tragic heroine in a Russian novel, then I'm the poor fucking bastard who has to wade through 1200 pages to find out she dies in the end.

Dementieva didn't play her best but Radwanska didn't either. But Radwanska was fearless and the business like attitude was present the whole match whereas Dementieva looked more desperate with each game. Radwanska is probably the best retriever in years and anticpates really well. She broke Elena down and wasn't intimdated by the power at all. And it isn't really a surprising result since Elena never wins many tournaments anyway.

Lena, Lena...

How can you fight like crazy running from side to side ten times to retrieve your opponent's shots and win the point brilliantly, and then go on to net an easy FH on the very next point?

Not much to say about the match; when Lena is off her game and spraying FHs like she was today, she's dead on the water. Radwanska didn't give away that many free points, Lena did nothing else - and usually at the worst possible time.

Fast, pugnacious players like Radwanska, who can absorb Lena's punch from the baseline, are a bad matchup for her, as the USO SF demonstrated. Add to this the way in which Radwanska took over the rallies with accurate shots whenever Lena was playing passively, not going for the lines or opening angles and just hitting the ball back (i.e. most of the time).

When Lena can't overpower her opponents with standard groundstrokes from the baseline, Lena is at a loss as to what to do. She never has any plan B; this is nothing new.
