I don't know if what I'm about to tell you can be classed as good news but I have searched the internet for news on Lindsay's withdrawal and can find nothing. I can only imagine that the rumours are incorrect.
I have checked the official WTA site, BBC Sport AND the official Wimbledon site and there is nothing to say that Lindsay has with drawn. The only withdrawal that is noted on the Wimby site is that of Goran Ivanisavic.
I will keep seaching and keep you posted.
Catch you later,

I've just been to the official Eastbourne event website too and their is no news about Lindsay withdrawing there either, just this:
DAVENPORT EYES UP OPPOSITION
American Lindsay Davenport will be returning to Eastbourne to defend her Britannic Asset Management International Championships singles title this summer.
Davenport, a winner of the Australian, US Open and Wimbledon singles titles in an illustrious career, will be looking to repeat her Eastbourne success of 2001.
If you're in the UK you can enter a prize draw to win Finals tickets to this event. All you have to do is go to:
Click on the button on the right of the site that flashes up "enter now......WIN TICKETS!"
Fill in your details and where you heard about the site and then you're away :)

I can stand Lindsay withdrawing from Eastbourne, but NOT Wimbledon:( this just would give the title straight to Venus. If Lindsay does not play, Justine Jen and Serena will be my hopes:D
GO LINDSAY! TOWER OF POWER!

"Former Wimbledon finalist Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario has pulled out of this year's tournament. Wimbledon referee Alan Mills said in a statement on Monday, two weeks before start of the grasscourt tournament: "She is withdrawing due to extreme exhaustion."
Arantxa!! not Lindsay!! /yet/
"I look at someone like Lindsay as inspirational....
... to see somebody like Lindsay, who wasn't known as the best athlete, shows you can do it the old fashioned way: hard work, dedication, love for your sport." - by John McEnroe

Like everyone else I have searched and searched and I cannot find anything officially saying Lindsay has withdrawn and that is as at 8.25 am BST Tuesday 11 June. Martina and Arantxia and Goran have withdrawn, but I agree with Rayrob and Kelly and others, I cannot find anything official.
