i'm disappointed that alicia lost but at least she gave jelena a run 4 her money by pushing her to 2 tough sets. but come 2 think of it alicia's quarterfinal result isn't that bad, it's actually a breakthrough 4 her plus it is only fitting that she lost 2 the top seed & a player that is in terrific form in jankovic. so no shame in that effort from alicia. she will keep on getting better & better from the more matches she plays i hope.

Jankovic, the top seed at the Tier III event, blocked out a dismal head-to-head taking on Alicia Molik, moving into the semifinals with a 63 75 victory. Molik, a former Top 10 player, had won four of their five previous encounters, and although she did manage to push Jankovic past an hour for the first time this tournament, was unable to repeat her past successes against the Serbian star. The match lasted one hour, 14 minutes.

"She played really well today," said Jankovic on the Australian, who has been working her way back into form over the last few months after a lengthy tennis hiatus due to an inner ear infection. "She served well and I had a hard time breaking her. I stayed focused on the job I had to do. She is a very tough player; I know she's coming back from an injury, but she's very dangerous and I had to play really well to beat her."
