Paola   :( Disappointing loss really, Ai hasn't been in great form all year and this was winnable.

Saying that, Vivi in the SF? That would be painful for both :o

Haha, Ai is in good form. To expect Paola Suarez to win this match is funny.

Go Ai!! Beat her moonballing doubles partner too!!!

For how long have you been following tennis? I don't think it's "funny" to expect a former top 10 player to beat Sugiyama. And BTW, you should try to watch some tennis before posting on a board like this, Ruano Pascual is not a moonballer.

Pao  , good tournarment for you at least you won in dobles..
I hope that you can play free of injuries and have good results in singles and in dobles as usual..

Bit of a shame for suarez really, must've thought she had a shot here, against the frequently inconsistent sugiyama it seems nowadays, but i think this shows just how little match-play suarez has had. Still i think she cant grumble about her efforts at this tourny, she's won a couple of rounds and at least is playing injury-free which must be a massive relief to the Argentinian, especially after her 2005 injury woes.

Good luck in doubles Paola :yeah:

Dude, Sugiyama reached #8 in singles and #1 in doubles.
Suarez's best rankings are #9 in singles and #1 in doubles.

And Ai's play this year has been much better than Suarez's.

Considering that Suarez has had injuries for a major part of the year.......

Yes, of course that has to be considered, and that is why anyone who expected Suarez to win this match is :cuckoo:
