Does somebody know anything about this girl? She has been quite anonymous until she bursted onto the scene this week and is now giving Medina Garrigues a lesson...

Shes 20 years old, hasnt been sponsored to play outside of China but shes had some good results this year, and won two challengers and beat some good players like Tanasugarn easily. I think she should be playing some overseas tournaments next year now that her ranking is in the top 200.

I thought Jing Ren would be the debutante coming out of Guangzhou, but it seems to be Yan-Chong Chen.

Both may be promising players; let's watch them in 2007.

She has played several tournaments outside China. I saw her play in $10K Barcelona 2003 beating Ivanova and losing against Pous Tió.

no ,she is definitely chinese,
she is also from Hunan province ( peng shuai and yuan meng are from hunan,too).
but play for guangdong province.

She is a girl with good groundstrokes and serve. (but not very consistent) And she is a fighter on court :D
