I KNEW it!!!!

It's so hard for a sub top player to win a match following a surprise and pretty "huge" win.

Well done Vivi!!! :bounce:

Sugiyama is much more of a big name in Asia than Mirza (except in India, obviously)

There is some controversy though regarding over-rules in the tie break..

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/storypage.aspx?StoryId=51749

With both players tiring, neither could seize the initiative in the final set and it was little surprise when it went to a tie-break. Mirza had already survived two match points but lost the tie-break 7-3 amid a number of controversial over-rulings by the umpire.

"I met Virginia in the locker room and she said that she had never seen three over-rules in a tie-break before," said Mirza. "It does spoil the game but sometimes it goes for you and sometimes against."

mirza has only been around for not more than 2 yrs whereas sugi has been there for a while...so its not so surprising....if mirza was arnd for that long...she would be a much bigger name for sure

That's not even the point though, so why bring it up? Not everything HAS to be about Sania.

Sania!!! What happened???...

well.. playing good or bad you had arrive to last rounds and do great and awful matches.. the thing is you havent a "SINGLE" tittle girl.. come on..

I was giving you credit cause win of yesterday but.. I see was a considence and people who watched the match ag Martina said that she looked pretty tired (theres pic's).. so.. Im mad cause I believe you would win this thing.. Mirza :help: 3 matches with 3 sets 1 tourney Tier IV :help: ..

Congrats to Ruano-Pacual, great performance girl!!!

Basically Sania did not lose the game. That fucking chair umpire cost her the third set. Sania got three bad calls in the last tiebreak. So VRV basically played crap and she did not win this match basically the umpire gave VRV the match not that VRV deserved to win.

Yes, because 3 points decide an entire match. I suppose the umpire gave Vivi all the points that got her to the third set tie-break too did they?!?!?

Sania won more points than Vivi and deserved to win.
Three calls decided the match and those of them in the crucial stage decided that match. I'm not dissapointed that Sania lost because she played very well and a lot better than Vivi. Vivi just edged out two Tie Breaks one of them with three bad calls and two ovverules(i.e Sania was forced to replay the point which Sania clearly won the point.) So basically Tie breaks are lottery and oboiusly she lost those lottery though. So Vivi basically did not do anything special to win. Anyway Sania needs a break after playing 7 singles matches and 4 doubles matches in 11 days. I'm proud the way she handles the difficult conditions in seoul.
