I recently saw where these two sisters won the World Junior Tennis Finals for Ukraine defeatin Russia 2-1 in play. I don't know much about them or even if the WJTF's are prestigious but I was curious to learn more. Does anyone know anything about them or how they play.

Nadiya and Lyudmyla are twin sisters  and are both very cute. They're young girls, 14 years old. Nadiya is ranked 62nd on the ITF junior rankings and Lyudmyla is ranked 75th. However it was Lyudmyla who clinched the finals by winning her singles match and with Nadiya the doubles match.

Do they have potential?

Lyudmyla and Nadya won the doubles title at the G2 Torneo Internazionale Citta di Prato losing just a few games each round

But there singles performances were not so great :o

Hopefuly these girls will beging to be more consistent with their results, but inconsistency is to be expected at the junior level

They weren't too lucky with the draws, but did OK I think.
At least they know how it's like to play at this level now.

Terrible results at China Open G2 in juniors :help:

R1: Xin WEN (CHN) defeated Nadiya KICHENOK (3) (UKR) 2-6 7-6(6) 7-6(4) :smash:
R2: Yue-Yue HU (CHN) defeated Lyudmyla KICHENOK (UKR) (2) 6-1 6-1 :speakles: :help:

I saw pictures of the twins at Bangkok G2 tournament (jirobkk's website) and they look REALLY THIN, especially Nadiya. It looks like her shoulder blades are popping out when she prepares for her BH.

Here are some pictures of the Kichenok's as mentioned by PerfectForm in Thailand:

Doubles trophies:

Singles action:

As for their talent...they are still young and juniors tend to have wild results. Only time will tell how good they can be. They've had some good and bad results so we'll just have to wait and see.

They did pretty good in doubles at Eddie Herr's.

Dec 6th, 2007, 06:25 PM
This slump has been way too long. Lyudmyla lost first round with a bagel in second set. Nadiya barely makes it to second round to be double bagelled by Pervak. They are constantly losing really badly..

Jun 3rd, 2008, 08:00 AM
This thread needs a bump. Nadiya is into R2 of RG juniors.. Lyudmyla lost in first round. They are 16 this year, so if they want to make it as pros, they should start making their move this year.

Jul 20th, 2008, 05:58 PM
No love for the twins? They are both at 25K Kharkiv this week. Nadiya has made it through to the final round of qualifying, Lyudmyla lost in the first round (She has really not been playing well this season).

The twins are playing doubles together.

Good luck girls :)

The won their first round doubles match. :) Still, their results are relatively disappointing...I doesn't appear that they have made a ton of progress in their games.

Pictures from Kharkiv of Nadiya:

Jul 24th, 2008, 05:24 PM
Yea. I know.. I thought there were supposed to be some super talent. Nadiya seems to making it through qualies frequently but Lyudmyla is not :(

At least they are into Qtrs in doubles :)

Jul 26th, 2008, 12:43 AM
Well they started off looking like they would be. ;)

The made the semifinals in doubles and lost to the eventual champions so that's good I guess. They have also been awarded MD WC's for the 50K+H in Ukraine next week. Personally I would've only given them QWC's in hope that they could actually win a match. :o Let's hope for the best...Lyudmyla needs all the support she can get at the moment. :help:

Jul 26th, 2008, 06:08 PM
Good luck to the sisters at the 50K next week !! hope to see them pull some surprises.

Jul 28th, 2008, 04:55 PM
The twins got the most screwed up draw :( hope they can pull surprises.

Jul 30th, 2008, 06:33 AM
surprise surprise ! Lyudmyla won a match & Nadiya lost in straight sets. It seems like the sisters cant seem to win together :(

Minorellen, were you there to watch Ludmyla's match? was she playing well to reach 5-2 or was it more of Cercone making too many UEs?

Jan 26th, 2009, 01:14 AM

Looking at the ITF entry lists, the sisters are definitely moving up to 25Ks, they're down for 50K Minsk next week but I don't think they'll get in, but then they're down for a 25K in Poland the next week.

Nov 9th, 2009, 05:06 PM
Sister act in 50K Minsk. Lyudmyla is keeping her good form & in the final round of qualies. Nadiya unfortunately lose to the top seed in 3 sets.

Biggest win of her career so for. Hopefully this will motivate Nadiya.

I realised that the sisters play really well in alternate patches. At the beginning of the year, it was Nadiya with her win at Nottingham and ITFs. and now, it is Lydua. But I guess its just due to luck of draws. Considering the fact that Arefyeva won one round in the MD as well, Nadiya did put up a good fight against her in qualies.

Nov 12th, 2009, 05:34 PM
 Lyuda in the QF!!

October 2009 - Lyudmyla Kichenok
By Nick Fishpool

Lyudmyla Kichenok:

Out of action since September 6th, 17-year Ukrainian player, Lyudmyla Kichenok, made a return to the Pro Circuit at a $10,000 tournament in Kharkiv in her native Ukraine. This tournament, held in the nation’s second largest city in the northeast of the country, took place on an indoor carpet surface and saw Kichenok make the singles main draw as a Wild Card entrant.

In the opening round, she faced another Wild Card player, fellow Ukrainian, Elizaveta Ianchuk. A 62 64 victory for Kichenok took her into a second round encounter with the No. 2 seed from Russia, Eugeniya Pashkova. The first set went the way of the Russian but Kichenok fought back to level the match to set up a tense final set and it was Kichenok who emerged victorious 36 63 75. In the same round, her twin sister Nadiya also claimed a major scalp as she defeated the No. 1 seed. Lidziya Marozava from Belarus who had reached this round having first come through the qualifying event was then beaten 64 63 and in the semi final she again won in straight sets (64 63 vs Tatiana Kotelnikova of Russia) to reach the final against a very familiar face.

The final of this tournament saw twin sisters Lyudmyla and Nadiya Kichenok face off for both the title and also bragging rights in the Kichenok household. Both could lay claim to being the favourite to claim the title, as Nadiya was the No. 8 seed whilst Lyudmyla was unseeded but going into this match it was Lyudmyla who had won all previous meetings between the two on both the Pro Circuit and Junior Circuit. Prior to this final taking place, the pair had teamed up the previous day to claim the doubles title, the second of their career, where as No. 2 seeds they defeated the top seeds. Now on opposite sides of the net an intriguing final was anticipated by all as doubles partner took on doubles partner and sister took on sister. Both sisters fought hard in the opening set and in the end it required a tiebreak to separate the pair, which went to Nadiya. This was the first set that Nadiya had ever taken off her sister having lost all four previous meetings in straight sets. Having now lost her first ever set against her sister, Lyudmyla was not about to go on to lose her first match against Nadiya and promptly levelled the match with the loss of three games in the second set. In the deciding set of this final, which incidentally was the first Pro Circuit singles final for both players, Lyudmyla stepped up a gear and dropped just two games to secure the title with a 67(2) 63 62 victory.

Lyudmyla then took a week off from competitive play before her next tournament, a $10,000 tournament on indoor hard courts in the Swedish capital, Stockholm. Sometimes referred to as the Venice of the North, Sweden’s largest city was hosting its second women’s ITF Pro Circuit tournament of 2009.

Unseeded, Kichenok was drawn against the No. 6 seed from Great Britain, Amanda Elliott, in the opening round. Kichenok lost the first set but came back to win 36 75 62 and followed this up with a rather comfortable 62 61 win over Russian Alexandra Artamonova. In the quarterfinal she took on Sweden’s Paulina Milosavljevic in what was to be a closely fought match and Kichenok just edged it 75 46 64. The semi final draw gave Kichenok a chance to gain revenge on behalf of her twin sister as she took on No. 1 seed, and conqueror of her sister in the quarterfinal, Emma Laine from Finland. Another tight match ensued for Kichenok and she was forced to come from behind to win through to the final, her second of her career. If she was to win the final, she would have to do it the hard way as following her 36 75 63 semi final win over the No. 1 seeded player, the final saw her up against the No. 2 seed from Russia, Marta Sirotkina. The final was decided in straight sets with Kichenok claiming the title, dropping three games in both sets.

Once again this month, in the doubles event she was named the No. 2 seed with her twin sister Nadiya. Having received a Bye in the first round, the sisters raced through the rounds en-route to claiming a career third title together in their ninth final.

This was a successful month for the 17-year old Ukrainian and one that she will always remember for October saw her make a winning debut in a Pro Circuit singles final and who better to face in that first final than her twin sister, who was also playing in her first final. A second singles title came at the end of the month and she also added to the doubles title won early in September which had ended a run of six doubles finals defeats, stretching back to September 2006, by claiming the doubles title at both tournaments played.

Earlier in the year, Kichenok reached career high WTA rankings of 535 (singles) and 254 (doubles) and will surely surpass both these rankings if she maintains the form displayed this month.

Lyudmila is the featured player of the month for the ITF Circuit. She definitely seems like a player to watch in the future!

Mar 23rd, 2010, 03:20 PM
Both siasters moved through the first round of qualifying to face eachother in the second. Lyudmyla def. Nadiya 6-3 7-5, and plays fellow qualifier Elena Kulikova(RUS)!

Has sth to do with Regina Kulikova?

Mar 25th, 2010, 10:34 AM
Lydumyla lost in first round, 2 tb sets :( so close!! on a sadder note, Nadiya has fallen out of the top 700 it seems.

Mar 31st, 2010, 04:21 PM
Nadiya made it through all the way qualies to lose in first round against Diyas at 50K Russia :( she has the worst luck in draws

On a better note, Lyda won her first round :)

Apr 3rd, 2010, 06:20 PM
Sisters lost in doubles finals but Lyuda has another amazing run into the finals :) Hope she wins a big one this time round. Good luck Lyuda.

Also hoping that Nadiya can catch up soon, now she's stuck in the 600s

I was browsing the Fed Cup website looking for Australia's next opponents, and I found out it was Ukraine. I looked at Ukraine's team and noticed two girls with the surname Kichenok. Had not heard of them before but assumed they were sisters because of their year of birth and surname.

Reading past results, I can see that they can win, it's a shame that they haven't played so well lately though. Hopefully they'll start stringing results together again soon :).

I wish them every success and luck for the future :yeah:.

Apr 22nd, 2010, 06:18 PM
Kichenoks :) Hope to see them on some livestream somewhere. Anyway, it seems Lyuda has switched rackets, from head to wilson?

Apr 25th, 2010, 09:58 AM
OMG! Lyuda is taking on Stosur in place of Bondarenko. Good luck Lyuda, Stosur is a total different league from the players Lyuda plays against regularly.

Luda was playing really well in the first and served for it at 5-4 30-30. It's a shame she couldn't close it out but she's so inexperienced that it was always going to be a problem. She's down a couple of breaks in the second but still a great experience for her.

Apr 25th, 2010, 12:55 PM
This match looked really good for Lyuda based on stats (minus the double faults). wish it was on TV somewhere

Apr 25th, 2010, 01:10 PM
Hi, fans!:D I believe Lyuda has got plenty of new ones today.

Her tennis is amaze. Raw, inexperienced, sometimes illogical, but amaze.:hearts: She reminds me Swiss Voegele year or so ago, with all that irrationalism and aggressiveness of her game. She has to work in every department of her game, of course, but the current state of it indicates she's got talent. Well, maybe someone should tell her the difference between 1st and 2nd serves does exist, for a start. Although it's quite funny how she hits the lines with the second serve.

The next one, who she reminds me, is Wickmayer. Two years ago this player's real career has started exactly in Kharkiv in Ukraine-Belgium tie. Nobody known player outplayed two top-30s. On clay. In aggressive, impressive, amazing style. Kichenok didn't win today, but Wickmayer wasn't 17 back then. Now Wicky is top 20, and she will be top 10 in no time, I'm sure. As much as I am a fan of this Belgian, I think Lyuda has got way more skills than Wicky ever had, or will obtain. She hits that ball so naturally, she feels this game. I have to re-watch the match to have my picture of about how she thinks during the rallies, but I believe she does do it.

Now personal.:p I have never been patriotic in tennis. I think I have just become. Am I overreacting? One may say it was just a match. But what a match. Do you think as well that this match can become a starting point of her bright career?

This was the longest post in my TF career, this much I am impressed.

Apr 25th, 2010, 01:19 PM
 I really hope it is the start of something. She has made 2 50k finals now but she is just not very consistent, so hopefully this does really start something for her. But we'll see!

Hopefully Nadiya can also take some inspiration from this too and start to move up the ranks. I would hate to see her get left behind. Ironically she actually had the better junior career.

Apr 25th, 2010, 01:34 PM

Yep, we'll see, of course. I've been following that her ITF tournaments streak... And she did quite well in doubles then, right?

btw, did they participate in that Bucha 10k tournament last year? If they did, then I can't believe how stupid I am for not going to see their matches.

Hopefully Nadiya can also take some inspiration from this too and start to move up the ranks. I would hate to see her get left behind. Ironically she actually had the better junior career.
I didn't know that. Irony at its best indeed. I actually know very little about them, but after today I will browse our Web space, and if I will find anything interesting about them, I'll post it here.:p

Hey tea, it sounds like you have the match on video? would you be kind enough to upload highlights or something? thanks
No, I haven't record it. I will check if the channel that showed it live, will do a repeat. If they will, you will get any video you want.;) Youtube, or the whole match.

Apr 25th, 2010, 05:15 PM
Thank you so much tea :) I've only watched one clip of Nadiya playing & I'm guessing they would have the same style.

Apr 25th, 2010, 05:22 PM
I dunno, they seem to have similar (aggressive) foundations but Lyuda is definitely much more powerful whereas Nadia has better volleys and is slightly more consistent. Nadia did so well in the second set of their doubles match. They lost 2-6 7-6 1-6 I think.

Apr 25th, 2010, 05:30 PM
damn! I couldn't find any livestream, this would have been a perfect opportunity to watch a full match of the twins :(

Apr 26th, 2010, 10:20 AM
I too would very much like to see some action from Fed Cup. I certainly didn't expect Lyudmyla to give Stosur such a hard time, especially considering her lack of big-match experience. And the sisters did well to take a set from the Australians in doubles, even though it was a dead rubber. I've never seen them play, so I'm intrigued... :)

It was, Nadia played amazingly well in the second set. I asked in the video-maker's thread if they have it so we'll see. :)

May 2nd, 2010, 11:20 AM
Thanks alot Slutiana. Anyway just watched Lyuda's match. Woh! This girl is talented, not only does she have power from the baseline to be a ball basher and one heck of a first serve, she actually has pretty good feel around the net and knows how to use a BH slice.

May 2nd, 2010, 11:38 AM

^^^ Have you downloaded every part? If so, you should be able to extract the MKV file easily from the RAR archive. Worked for me...

Still hoping someone will upload the doubles match so I can see the other twin in action too. :)

at least she picked up some points reaching the QF. I hate to see Lyuda moving up the rankings & Nadiya stuck in the 600s :(

(3)Cagla Buyukakcay (TUR) v Daria Kuchmina (RUS)
(wc)Nadiya Kichenok (UKR) v Q

25K Kharkiv, likely (& hopefully) she tanked the match in Turkey to stay fresh for this bigger tournament.

May 3rd, 2010, 07:01 PM
Lyuda is there too. She plays a WC.

May 7th, 2010, 05:42 AM
Both lost in the second round :( Nadiya lost to the third seed in 3 sets, not too bad I guess. Lyuda lost after winning the first set 60 !

Lyuda is in finals of 25K Kharkiv & Nadiya lost in the qtrs. At this rate, Lyuda may very well make USO qualies :)

Lydmyla def. Risa Ozaki 6-1 7-6 (2). Had a bit of trouble holding serve in the second set. Will need to clean that up

2nd rd. vs. Garbine Muguruza Blanco

but in the 1st set from 5*-1 to 5*-3 15-40 :)

Puig up next. Good luck Lyudmyla. If she plays well she can go very far here.

Jun 2nd, 2010, 02:55 PM
Lyuda lost against number 1 seed :( Nadiya took 3 sets to win over a wc in Italy. Hope Nadiya picks up her form for the next round.

Jun 3rd, 2010, 01:20 PM
Kind of sad at that loss :(
I hope to see her play at juniors US Open when I go. And I bet her game on a fast court will be great!

Where's Nadiya?

Jun 16th, 2010, 03:54 AM
not sure.. Nadiya didn't even make it past the 2nd round of the last 10K she played.

Jun 29th, 2010, 08:07 PM
Both twins have successfully made it through qualies of a 25K (Nadiya) & 100K (Lyuda). Nadiya drew the 5th seed in the first round while Lyuda faces Cirstea :( Tough luck after making it through qualies.

Sep 20th, 2010, 05:34 PM
Twins tried out in qualies of tashkent wta. Both won their first rounds but both lost in the second rounds :( Nadiya retired after losing her opening serve, hope it's nothing serious.

Oct 8th, 2010, 09:02 PM
They both lost in QF in 25K Limoges (Lyudmyla to second seeded Julia Mayr).
But that's the right way to follow... c'mon girls :)

Oct 8th, 2010, 11:15 PM
I'm very impressed by this result for both girls

Lyudmyla made her seeding QF round, and Nadiya was able to qualify for the event and make the QF upseting the No. 7 seed and eventually falling to the talented No. 4 seed and country woman Yulia Begyelzimer...I hope this a sing of great things to come :D

Oct 9th, 2010, 06:02 AM
Lyuda's gonna have to start defending her big points from last year. Hopefully they keep up the form but it seems that they always play better in the last 1/4 of the season.

Oct 11th, 2010, 05:21 PM
Both sisters are entered in the $25,000 in Kharkiv

Lyudmyla is the No. 2 seed, and faces Q - Nadya Kolb (UKR) #1094 in the world...Lyudmyla should play well here and hopefully live up to her seeding at the least.
Nadiya is a direct entrent in the same half of the draw as her sister, and faces Mihaela Buzarnescu (ROU) #440 in the world...Nadiya is not expected to win as she is 474 currently.

Let's hope for a sister semifinal show-down!

Oct 14th, 2010, 09:10 PM
Next tournaments?

Oct 15th, 2010, 11:01 PM
Well I've looked over the ITF Tournaments for next week and they're not mentioned as playing anywhere so I'm wondering if Lyudmila is actually hurt (as she retired this week).

Jan 19th, 2011, 12:07 PM
Twins starting the season at 25K Andrezieux-Boutheon, France. Nadiya lost in second round of qualies & Lyuda seems to be only playing doubles.

Apr 4th, 2011, 08:03 PM
Oh didn`t see it. Congrats then, girls!;)

BTW do they play similar tennis? Lyudmyla seems way more successful than Nadiya.

Apr 5th, 2011, 08:45 AM
From the little that i've seen of them (one match from Lyuda & 2 games from Nadiya), yes they are both hard hitting baseliners. However, I think Lyuda has a harder & flatter game while Nadiya seems to have abit more spin on her shots. Never seen this personally, but I've read that Nadiya has better hands at the net than Lyuda, so I guess it kinda makes up for her less imposing ground game.

Apr 22nd, 2011, 07:08 PM
No news about twins for long time, but I found some short video on youtube at least. Unfortunately it's in russian, so would be much appreciated, if someone can translate it for us non russian speaking. ;)

(btw. it starts around 8:00, first half is about Nastya and Arina Rodionova)

Nadiya is in the finals of 25K Minsk, hopefully she will take the title against Olga Poutchkova tomorrow :)

Lyuda lost in the qtrs to Poutchkova, so it would be perfect for Nadiya to take revenge for her twin as well as finally be in the spotlight.

Twins also won the doubles title :)

Twins are back in action at an Italian 25K. Nadiya had to make it through qualies.

Jun 14th, 2011, 02:15 PM
Nadiya won after a hard fought 67 76 76 victory. Lyuda just lost.

I was watching Lyuda's match and her loss was all mental. She nearly broke back for 5-5 in the second set, missed 2 break pts & lost the set, immediately she starts getting frustrated and down on herself at the beginning of the third set. In the third set, she had bps to go up 5-3, blew it & got broken immediately with frustration clearly showing. Down 45, she was 15-30 upon her opponent's serve, misses a backhand DTL, smashes her racket down & proceeds to lose the next 3 points & the match :(

Jun 14th, 2011, 03:13 PM

Found this great video of the twins in juniors. There are more clips from the same user. Lyuda is the one with the braid & Nadiya is the one serving.

Jul 4th, 2011, 07:20 AM

Jul 16th, 2011, 06:27 PM
Nadiya wins first round qualies in 100k Bucharest, but lyuda lost to the top seed. Good draw for nadiya though, hope she can upset the number four seed next!

Jul 16th, 2011, 06:48 PM
It seem thats the Kichenok twins can never seem to do well together. When Lyuda plays really well, Nadiya will suck. When Nadiya starts doing better, Lyuda will suck. The 2 exceptions have been the 10K (Nadiya made finals) & 25K (Nadiya made either qtrs or sfs) where Lyuda won.

Jul 17th, 2011, 08:08 PM
Nadiya into final round of qualies after beating #5 seed. Plays Jurikova who beat lyuda in the final round of qualies 2 weeks ago. Get some revenge Nadiya!!!!

Sep 14th, 2011, 09:09 AM
Nadiya lost to Juricova 6-4, 6-0 @Bucharest. I see that Lyuda lost in the finals of qualies@Olomouc 50K and the in the 2nd rd main draw @Trnava 50K also teaming up with Krunic in doubles, lost in the semis. got through Qualies @Prague 25K but then lost in the 1st round of the main draw. Nadiya lost in the 2nd round of qualies to Iveta Gerlova, way below her rank. Nadiya #412 and #203 in doubles. Lyuda is #347 and #192 in doubles. What's impressive is that together they are ranked #70 in the doubles race. I watched the videos when they were Jrs. With alot of promise vs the more recent vids and they have lost that explosive 1st step or two. This research all started because I saw these girls listed as playing in the rnd of 16, and in the qrts in doubles of the WTA Taskent going on right now. How can you play qtrs when you havn't won your previous round? This was on Tennis.com @Taskent; Nadiya lost to Mervana Jugic-Salkic 4-6, 7-5, 4-6 in 1st r qualies and Lyuda won 6-0, 6-1 over Madina Hatamova, but she lost her next match to Marta Sirotkina 7-5, 7-5. Today they play Krunic/Rybarikova in the r16 main draw, and Eva Bimerova/Vesna Dolonts in the qrts. Having won yesterday against Olga Govortsova/Alla Kudryavtseva. I'm sure only the first match is the real deal.

Looks like they got all the way to the final which is great result for them!!!! Now they need to have some better singles results

Nov 2nd, 2011, 12:56 AM
Nadiya has made it through qualis and won her 1st round match in 25k this week!!!!

Nov 2nd, 2011, 02:50 PM
She lost to 5th seed Sirotkina :( Nadiya has been stuck in the same position for about 2 years now and Lyuda has taken huge steps backwards. Wonder what's up with their singles as their doubles game is improving.

I've been wondering if maybe they might have been struggling with their fitness a little bit, but that is just a guess on my part.

Nov 8th, 2011, 01:27 PM
From what I saw of Lyuda this season, it's her brainless hitting that is causing her problems :(

Nov 11th, 2011, 02:59 AM
I think they have more potential than they are showing this year. Hopefully they will do better next year in singles.

Nov 13th, 2011, 06:58 PM
Both sisters have won their first round quali matches in 25k Bratislava. Nadya got very lucky break and will face an unranked 15 year old WC when the top seed in qualis withdrew. Lyudmila plays the qualifying 3rd seed Tinjic next. Nice chance to get to MD for both, but Nadya really better make it especially!!!!

Nadiya has qualified into the MD. Hoping for Lyuda to do the same now.

Nov 16th, 2011, 01:58 AM
And Nadiya has lost her 1st round match but Lyuda still has a chance to get through her 1st round.

Nov 16th, 2011, 07:02 AM
It sucks that Nadiya drew a seed & had to play back to back days :(

The twins are a super-talented pair, and I think that they could go far in singles and doubles. That said, there is one thing about them that worries me. Both of them are very slender, and I've got some doubts about if they can survive on Tour because of that. There are a few thin players on the main tour who have done just fine despite their size, but Lyuda and Nadiya seem to be thinner than any of the ones that I can think of. Tennis is a very physical game these days, and players have got to be pretty tough in order to be successful. Players that aren't tough enough can have problems avoiding injuries, and we all know what ongoing injury woes can do to a promising career. I'm hoping that this is not what is in store for the girls, but Lyuda's start to the year has got me quite concerned. So far, she's only started 3 tournaments playing singles, and she has had to retire at some point on all 3 occasions.

Let me just be clear about something here. My comments about how the twins are built should not be taken as some sort of criticism. As far back as their early junior days, the twins have always been thin, and it's pretty obvious that they are naturally prediposed to be thin. Genetics have steered them towards a certain build. That said, genes won't prevent them from gaining weight if they ever try to do that in the future. Assuming that I'm right, and bulking up would indeed help them to stay healthy. I just hope that they can figure it all out before it hurts them too badly.

Anyway, ending on a more positive note, I see that they've now got their own website. :)

May 20th, 2012, 07:38 PM
Lost final but still good effort to get there. Twins both in 25k event in KAZ next week. Nadiya draw looks good but Lyudmila would play top seed in second round. Gl to both!! It would be really nice to see Nadiya put together another strong event here

May 26th, 2012, 06:33 PM
Lyudmila won the event!!!!

Jun 9th, 2012, 12:01 AM

Lyuda reached the final of 25K Minsk last week as seed #5, but lost to Sasnovich 0-6 6-7(4).

Now twins are playing 25K Helsinki.

R1 N. Kichenok d. (WC)Afanasyeva 6-1 6-2 :)

R1 L. Kichenok vs. (JE)Mestach

Nov 14th, 2012, 05:25 PM
Lyuda lost 6-4 3-6 6-7(5) :hysteric:

I know Mestach is a good junior but Lyuda shouldn't have lost this match, having won the 1st set. :tears:

Nov 15th, 2012, 04:13 PM
Helsinki R2 Nadiya lost to (2)Pfizenmaier 6-1 3-6 4-6  Too bad cause she got the 1st set quite easily.
