2004 - Some say a dark day in the world of tennis.

In reality it was a meaningful moment and match.

It truly made the electronic line calling debate into a legitimate and serious discussion and now, 2 years later it's going to be used in a slam event for the first time.

This is the same chair umpire from the Ivanovic/Srebotnik match. She was the one who fouled up badly, overruling a call that Ivanovic correctly challenged. Then the umpire didn't give her the point even though Srebotnik missed the shot badly before the out call was made.

She should not be officiating!

AHHHHHHH! I can't even look at this without my blood pressure going off the charts. It was a dark day from a fan's perspective, but it was needed. If it weren't for that match, we probably wouldn't have electronic line calling. That aside, I think this was one of the best matches of Serena and Jennifer's rivalry, along with the YEC in 2002 - which had the same scoreline ironically (different result). It's a shame because everyone talks about the line calls instead of Capriati's amazing fight back in that match. Alves really ruined what could have been a classic match IMO.

2004 - Some say a dark day in the world of tennis.

In reality it was a meaningful moment and match.

It truly made the electronic line calling debate into a legitimate and serious discussion and now, 2 years later it's going to be used in a slam event for the first time.

Martina and Venus make History. No final in Grand Slam history has featured two players as young as the 17-year-old Williams and the 16-year-old Hingis.

I love watching that match Martina vs Venus. that was great!
