A top official said that a UN war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic is hiding in Serbia, according to comments published today.

In the past, Serbia’s government has denied that Mladic was in the country, saying it had done all it could to locate the fugitive general, who is wanted on genocide charges by the UN war crimes court in The Hague, Netherlands.

Vladimir Vukcevic, Serbia’s war crimes prosecutor who heads a government team charged with capturing Mladic, was quoted as saying in the Blic daily today that claims by UN prosecutors that Mladic is in Serbia were “absolutely founded”. He did not elaborate.

Vukcevic was not immediately available for comment, but his office confirmed the authenticity of the remarks.

Belgrade’s failure to deliver Mladic to the war crimes court at The Hague prompted the European Union earlier this year to suspend pre-entry talks with Serbia until he is arrested.

Serbia recently drafted a so-called “Action Plan” for Mladic’s arrest, appointing Vukcevic as one of the co-ordinators of the operation.

Vukcevic said that his team – which includes senior security officials and other leaders – has been working on details of the plan and its implementation, according to Blic.

He added that, in the past, Serbia’s many security services had poor co-operation, letting Mladic slip away.

“It is much better now,” he was quoted as saying. “All this has been settled.”

Mladic has been evading arrest since his genocide indictment in 1995. He was charged with allegedly orchestrating the massacre of 8,000 Muslims from Srebrenica, and other war crimes during Bosnia’s 1992-95 war.

:fiery: :fiery: This new "plan" is another hoax they have no intention whatsoever of handing over Mladic :fiery:
