Ontario isn't celebrating either, but everybody knows we don't care about anybody except ourselves. I'm not sure what Quebec's excuse is

Oh, it's a holiday. Maybe because of New Brunswick day, but I guanentee you that if I walked outside and asked the first 20 people I saw why today was a holiday, they'd say something along the lines of "because it's August long weekend".

Actually, it's Simcoe day, a Summer-break civic holiday. Here is Mr John Graves Simcoe, circa 1793.

I honestly don't know. Our offices in Toronto and Saint John called Friday to let us know they'd be off for "New Brunswick Day".

It's a holiday across the country but it is under provincial jurisdiction.

So as I was saying, we have a holiday, but nobody really knows or cares why. We just know that it's a holiday and I got paid to stay in bed today.
