Have you got eyes to read? She'd just won the dog that moment in an auction.

My squeamishness about auctioning off a living creature aside, it was an incredibly sweet gesture on her part :)

The title of this thread is misleading. She didn't give away her own dog. She bought a puppy dog on the auction at $11.000 and gave it to a woman she had met.

Kim........... Great as always.....

When Morgan reached the court, Clijsters presented her with Ace. An overjoyed Morgan appropriately renamed the puppy “Kim.” As it turned out, unbeknownst to Clijsters, Morgan’s nine-year-old Black Labrador, “Kimba” died the year before.
Awww. :)
*waits for Bodo's take on it. *

:worship: Kim, that's great. I agree the thread title is a little misleading, but if dumbfucks took the time to read, it wouldn't be a problem.

Its not so hard to fall for her. Brian is so lucky!!!

Especially the part about the died former dog... wow maybe that was just meant to be fo some reason. Kim, keep up the good work!!!! Maybe Maria could learn from you... it's not about how much money you have, its about how much heart... I guess that seperates the two one-slam champions :p

That was just to shock you and entice you to read the thread. Actually, she bought the dog so it was hers, before she gave it away. Too bad, labs love water... it would have felt right at home in Belgium ;)

If you read the article that's linked to the post its a sweet thing Kim did. A breast cancer research charity gets 11 grand and Kim makes someone very happy. Great thing if you ask me. But the auctioning of a dog is a touch odd to say the least.

Good for Kim, but shame on them for auctioning off a puppy. I thought that kind of thing had been stopped in most of the country.

Oh it was 11 grand. I thought it was 11 dollars. LOL People need to know when to use commas.

Or maybe if you learnt something at school, you'd know that in most of Europe, they write USD$11,000.00 as USD$11.000,00 (ie they write all their money with a dot where the comma would be in America and with a comma where the dot would be). :retard:

And why the hell would someone write it as 11.000, not 11.00 if they meant $11?

can't she auction her right arm off so she doesn't have to annoy us with her "holier than thou" routines/tennis?

okay just kidding. but still. :p

Sounds like a genuinely sweet gesture to me and a way to give money to charity and change two lives (the woman and the puppy) in an immediate way.

What a kind heart she has.

In some countries, they used a period instead of a comma in large numbers.

That woman's story sounds... a bit odd... the last dog's name was "KIMba?" ..hmmm..... coincidence?

Anyways, great gesture from Kimmie... It looks like the puppy found a better home than he would with Kim who is always traveling. If only more people had a golden heart like Clijsters.... sigh..

Maria has been involved for years in charitable works and has stated that she feels strongly about using a part of her money for good causes so she shouldn't be singled out here.

In my opinion ANYONE (including Maria) could learn from Kim; her kindness and unselfish concern for others puts most of the WTA to shame.

Oh really?

Do you know what the other players give and do for charity? Perhaps they don't make it as public as Kim does! Some players like to keep shtum about what they do for charity .... they don't need to tell the whole world!
