She isn't playing here anymore because she is still in the doubles at Roland Garros! But most players have a back up in case they do lose early in a GS - the lower ranked players often enter into a tournament that is scheduled in the second week of a GS just in case they do lose, and that means they still have somewhere to play in the second week.

I actually expected Cho to lose this. Her style of play is to plant herself 8 feet behind the baseline and throw up topspin moonballs. It's terrible on a grass court. When she did this against Hlavackova in US Open Qualies, I actually fell asleep!!! They both had the exact same game. A 7-6 7-5 match took close to 3 hours!

Yoon-Jeong and Saori, extremely disappointing.
Bradshaw, I doubt Yoon-Jeong plays like that all the time. Against moonballers, sometimes the best thing to do is to the same thing, if you're confident of out-moonballing them.

You could be right. I've only seen her play that match, so that might be an inaccurate statement. But her game seems to be like Koulikovskaya's, in that she stands way behind the baseline until she gets a short ball that she can drive. With the looping shots she hits though, grass wouldn't seem to fit her game well.

Where do they play indoors? Surbiton doesn't have indoor courts, does it?
Due to heavy rain throughout the night their will be NO grass court play at Surbiton today. Arrangements are being made to play at various indoor venues to reduce the backlog of matches.
The Surbiton Trophy Website will provide match results when they become available.
The following matches are planned to be played indoors today.
Men's remaining first round singles and doubles matches will be played at The Sutton Junior Tennis Centre with matches starting at 2.00pm. (Spectators are welcome at Sutton)
Women's second round singles matches will be played at St. Georges College, Weybridge with matches starting at 1.30pm. (No spectator facilities available at St. Georges College)
