OK. So in the last month:
1) US Open Series to allow shotspot to be used.
2) Limited Coaching to be allowed at Toronto and New Haven.
3) Site of US Open Renamed USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center
Is there anything else that needs to be done on the tour before it's obvious that Billie Jean King has more than a little influence in the WTA and USTA? :help:

Lisa Raymond mc'ing the dedication ceremony and Jen Cap popping out of the cake.

Snarking aside. I like the idea - I like it better than yet another "smaller of the two" stadiums being named for the female player.

Actually, it would have been smallest of the three in this case, just like Melbourne Park.

BJK is an influential figure but naming the National Tennis Center after her is going WAY too far.

why? she's probably the most influential player of all time. if naming the national tennis center after her wasn't done, she'd have some 2nd rate stadium named after her, which isn't fitting.

The USTA couldn't not honor Billie Jean, so if not her, then whom?

It should be called USTA Flushing Billie Jean King Down the Toilet Centre. Rolls of the tongue better ;)

A nice tribute to a lady that has dedicated her life to tennis.

BJK is an influential figure but naming the National Tennis Center after her is going WAY too far.
She is just the women who "invented" the Women Tennis Tour...., she won 20 wimbledon title, she is the only women to have won the US open on the 4 surface (clay, grass, carpert and hard), ....
In another word all the women tennis star today won so many money and knowledge because of Billie Jean King.

This not going to far, this just recognition about all of her achievement for women tennis, and women place in the society.

I love this one:
"Whaou! Really my name is gone be there? Whaou! Are you serious? A women's name? Oh my goodness, it's gone be the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis center, i could believe it" - Billie Jean King

I'm happy for BJK, but I really don't like the idea of a shared name for Ashe stadium. I wonder why couldn't they name another stadium after her?

I have to agree, renaming the center after her is a bit much.

Really, for what? Team Tennis, Battle of the Sexes,
palimony, what? I know she was brilliant in her career,
but, so were many others in her era.

Influential of all time? No. Sorry, don't agree.

Althea Gibson broke more barriers than BJK.

She's a brilliant role model for the game, spokesperson,
and fought for the WTA, but, a stadium after her? Don't
think it fits.
