any change in prize money?

not to any tier's

Dubai prize money is $1.5M and for a Tier II
more than every Tier I except the Spring Hard Court ones in US.

it's great that they are giving more prize money to the players who actually win, instead of just putting it all toward those huge Williams sisters appearance guarantees.

Godd for Barcelona and Spain to have a tournament!!

But i cannot understand why the WTA doesn't make a good calendar, and it's better to put a clay tournament in clay season, and not in grass tournament. Why not the week of 24th april?

Last year Barcelona had a Tour event was in 1995 (Tier II) when Arantxa defeated Majoli in the finals.

Cool for Spain, but I think in a few years we will have a miassive change due to the fact that all the players want more free time before AO...

this means WTA Berlin will take place in 2007
but that might be the last year then (at least as a Tier I)

That will be a weak ass tournament, I'm afraid.

But still nice. I assume the venue is the same as the Open Seat Godo?

I don't think so. Barcelona Tier II in the 90's was held in 3 different clubs during the 5 years it was played.

And the club were the $75K+H tournament is played now (and probably is the one being promoted as WTA event) is again a different one. So who knows
