I dont think I remember a tournament where 3 players have dominated it like this before.

1998 -- Davenport def. Venus 64 57 64
1999 -- Davenport def. Venus 76 61
2000 -- Venus def. Davenport 61 64
2001 -- Kim def. Davenport 64 67 61
2002 -- Venus def. Kim 63 63
2003 -- Kim def. Jennifer 46 64 62
2004 -- Lindsay def. Venus 76 57 76
2005 -- Kim def. Venus 75 62
2006 -- Kim def. Schnyder64 62

Amazing that in 9 years, only TWO others have reached the final.

neat. although, to be fair, the top players listed in your post are just about the only top players that have competed @ stanford for the last decade.

Oh, 2004...how I weep for those days.
I had about 204935 heartattacks during that one.

Stanford is probably my favorite tournament, ahead of Amelia Island. These three are definately it's best.

Lindsay Venus and Kim, the Queens of the Bank of the West by far! :worship:

I read somewhere they both won the tournement, in like 2001 or 2000. It seems pretty weird to me!

No, it was the tournie in Scottsdale where they share the win because they could never finish their match due to rain.

Thank you, I knew it was something like that, right Hingis lost possesion of her favorite tournies during her off years, '98 and '01 both Tokyo Pan pacific and Filderstadt.

yeh its a bit of a shame that Davenport and Venus didnt play Stanford this year. The trophy was probably already scribed with 'Clijsters' on before the tournament even started looking at the entry list

Yes that's right Lindsay and Martina could get onthe court for the final due to very heavy rain so they spilt the points and the prize money in half and named them co champions I think it was in 2000 or 01. It wassaid the other 358 days of the year it doesn't rain.
