Tati gets into San Diego thanks to the withdrawal of JHH.

Now, time to collect our first trophy, Tati

This will be a tough trophy for her to win. Besides I'd prefer if she wins Stanford, then San Diego.

My bad ;).

I really think if she plays well, Stanford is winnable.
San Diego would be fun too. I know someone off the board is going there, and he's ready to stalk Tati

I really don't think it is such a terrible draw considering Tati is unseeded. Her draw was always going to be difficult. But Ivanovic in the second round is about as good as you can ask for seeing as how she has had a very mediocre season. Petrova is coming back from injury plus Tati has beaten her twice in the past.

This might be a good opportunity for Tati to beat Ivanovic, if they meet, considering how many matches each has played in the last several weeks. The qualifer in the 1st round has won a match or two already so Tati better be ready once the Bank of the West ends.

the qualifiers are placed and tati has Amy Frazier, who is the highest ranked qualifer, in the 1st round. But i don't think it's a bad matchup for tati. It's probably better than other young players that she has never faced before, i.e. Bardina. She has a 1-0 record against frazier.

and no match on monday so i guess she'll play on tuesday.

Tati is playing doubles with Marta . Why doesn't she play more with a decent double player. I was hoping that there'd be more Tati/Marti in the future. But oh well, good luck with the check.

Tati vs Amy. I think Amy is a good matchup for Tati before facing Ana I. I hope Tati rests well during the weekend. Amy is tough cookie.

Looks like you may be right.

But Nastya usually wins when I say she will.

The choker is back. Tati twice served for the second set failing both times. Had set points in one of the games. Had set points in the tiebreak and choked again.

Stupid Tati.

boy, what a difference a week makes. tati lost 6-3 7-6 (7) to frazier. and the match wasn't even that close since amy had 11 double faults!

at least she didn't waste a good draw with this result. so i guess this year, it's going to be either a 1st round loss or a semifinal result.

Tati.... I don't get her. She can play amazing tennis one day, and suck HARD the next. She was just awful yesterday. She needs to lose some weight.

And whats with the thread "Tati is 0-438957349875987 against everyone and the next Alexandra Stevenson".

Everyone is starting to jump off the bandwagon from Miami (which I'm glad) and they had amnesia that Tati just came back from a nasty rollover.

Then again, her loss this week is rather pathetic.

From someoone who has watched the match.

Yes, Tati was really blow against Amy. She looked unfit and disinterrested. I only saw the second set. Goldfine was with her, and did not look at all pleased.

Oh well, Tati is the type of player that can have a bad loss and come back and win a couple of matches and shes in the semi's ;)
