To win both majors at clay and at grass (Rolland Garros and Wimbledon) in same season is more than sign of truly greatness and total domination. So far, in woman tennis history onle 11 greate players reach this succes:

Suzanne Lenglen FRA (1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1925)
Helen Wills-Moody USA (1928, 1929, 1930, 1932)

Martina Navratilova USA (1982, 1984)

If win against Mauresmo in Wimbledon 2006 final match Justine Henin-Hardenne will be one of only 12 players in history who won GS on clay and grass in one year.

But, if she win against Amelie in straight sets (2-0) Justine Henin-Hardenne from Belgium in this season will be 1st woman in last 50 years who not lose any set at Roland Garros and Wimbledon (in same season) !!!!!

Mauresmo is classy, but I still can't imagine her beating a fit Justine in a GS final. It's impossible to imagine.

Scary thing is that Juju should be going for the Grand Slam now.

Even though I don't really care for her as a person, I think her performance will be more impressive because Mo Connelly only had to win 10 matches, Justine had to win 4 more matches for her double! Good Luck to both finalists...it should be a very good match!

Right now i discover new chance for JuJu new (historical) succes:

Whatever if she lose or win on Saturday - if she reach US OPEN final this year Justine Henin-Hardenne will be 8th woman tennis player who play all 4 Grand Slam finals (AO, RG, Wimbley & USO) in one single year !!!!

In past, only 7 greate woman players play in same year all 4 GS finals:

Maureen Connolly (1953)
Margaret Smith Court (1965, 1970)
Chris Evert (1984)
Martina Navratilova (1985 - 1987)
Steffi Graf (1988 - 1989, 1993)

Interesting thing that in mans (ATP) competition this 2006 season still have chance to be "historical" year, because if Rafael Nadal win this Wimbledon, hi will be only 8th man in history who won GS at clay and grass (RG & Wimbley) in same season (last time that do it Bjorn Borg in 1980!!!), and if Roger Federer win today in SF vs. Bjorkman and reach US Open final this year too - hi will be only 5th man in history who play in all 4 GS finals (AO, RG, Wimbley & USO) in same year (last time Rod Laver in 1969 reach this succes!!!).

So far only 9 greate tennis players in woman competiton have win (career) at all Grand Slam tournaments (AO, RG, Wimbley & USO)

Doris Hart
Maureen Connolly
Shirley Fry
Margaret Smith Court
Billie Jean King
Chris Evert-Lloyd
Martina Navratilova
Steffi Graf
Serena Williams

Justine Henin-Hardenne already won Australian Open (2004), French Open (2003, 2005, 2006) and US Open (2003)… is she ready to be #10 ?!? She needs this Wimbley 2006 title so much…
Also, if she win (whatever) Wimbledon she will be 2nd player in history (1st is Steffi Graf) who won all slams and Olympic gold!

I certainly hope Justine will win tomorrow but even if she doesn^t, she has more Hall of Fame credentials already than most who are in the Hall now.

Wow, I MUST admit, Justine has been very very impressive at Wimbledon this year. I expected her to just run through the draw at Roland Garros easily, but not at Wimbledon.

Good luck at getting your career slam.

Wait a minute... I taught Serena Williams was the 2nd player to do so? Didn't she win the Olympic Gold in 2000?

So therefore, Justine would be the 3rd player to do so... if, and only if, she wins Wimby tonight...

(Davenport need RG for that, Serena need Olympic gold and win in FedCup final match, Venus RG and FedCup... etc)
