It is more serious than it seems.
Arantxa is very dissapointed about her tennis, and she says she is thinking about her future in tennis.
She doesn´t know if she´s playing Wimbledon, and what to do on the next few months. She has mentioned indeed the word retirement in some interviews here in Spain...
I hope she doesn't.

I hope Arantxa doesn't retire either.

I could not believe that score.

As you should know, Arantxa has pulled out of Wimbledon, withdrawing due to extreme exhaustion , I've read.
I don't know why, but I've already heard different opinios about Daniela changing or not her partner... Now we've got a real discussion topic, because, unfortunately, Daniela has lost her partner for one of the biggest tournaments

I can't believe Arantxa is not playing at Wimbledon. Sure hope this is the rest she needs but wish it was other tournaments she stayed out of then Wimbledon. Guess she thought she could handle it all.

Now, to the shock of Daniela not having her wonderful doubles partner for Wimby. Arantxa was so good for her with her experience and the encouragement she gave her. Especially, when Daniela would get down on herself after a UE and Arantxa would encourage her until she got back in form.

Can't imagine any of the other female players passing this up to have Daniela as their doubles partner as they would have a great chance of taking the title. With Martina not playing, maybe Anna K. or Babsi not playing with Silvia. I'm sure there are a lot more.

IMO I wouldn't want Daniela playing with Anna K. (no offense to Anna K fans) b/c I dont think Daniela would perform well under tthe media's increased attention

I've heard a lot of times people don't want Daniela playing with Anna K... I agree with you, but, just for one tournament, I don't know.
I'd surely prefer someone like Likhotseva, or Dementieva, or even Husarova, obviously, but as I don't hope Daniela's partnership with Arantxa has ended, I really don't care too much who plays with her one or two tournies

 I really liked this doubles partnership.

They had a good chance to win Wimbledon. But even if Aranxta does retire from singles, I think she probably will continue with doubles.

As for an alternative partner, I think it would be interesting to see her play with Anna. And I don't think it's that unlikely as both are looking for temporary partners. Or Dani might choose just to play mixed.
