OMG. I had no idea she was even playing! :o :help:

She should get to the 3R. If she is anywhere near fully fit, she can easily get rid of Diaz-Oliva, who is very sucky lately. She'll probably have Gajdosova in the next round, who could stretch Tati to 3 if she's rusty. Then Mauresmo. Who knows what's going on with her.

Pretty sweet draw for Tati. Diaz-Oliva is one of the easiest first round opponents available and then in the second round there are two easy opponents as well. If Tati is fit she should be able to get to the 3rd round.

Finally! A decent draw for Tati. I really hope she doesn't force herself to play just because it's Wimbledon and then lose in the first round because it would just ruin her confidence and also worsen her ankle.

Because she made 44 UEs !!!!!

FrenchY52
Jun 28th, 2006, 03:23 PM
They showed the match on French TV :
Tati did too many errors in the first set and Diaz had nothing to lose ..
In the second Tati improved and Diaz didn't play that well but in the 3rd set, at the end, Tati saved 2 matchpoint ( forehand winner + long rally ) and from that she played very well . She finished with an ace .

tati fought very very well. she was down 2-4, 0-40 and then 4-5. she served for the match but lost that game quite easily. then she served to stay in the match at 6-7. she missed an overhead into the bottom of the net to go down 0-30 and then at 30-30 in the same game she thought she hit a winner, but it was out. she screamed what! and stared at the linesjudge and then the umpire for a minute or two. i realeized she was now matchpoint down and i kept thinking "o fuck. o fuck. she has no concentration on the match now. there's no way she'll win. there's no way so can win the next point after she spent so much time on that arguement. she's too emotional to focus. o god she just faulted her first serve. she's going to double fault the match away. i know it. fuck. this horrible game is going to lose her the match. the easy overhead miss and then the line call, it was too much for her" but then she fucking fought and won the damn thing.

i know chokotati of last year would have lost this match 6-4 in the third or something, but i could tell when she was really down she just kept thinking "i came back vs sharapova, i could do it now too" you're so amazing tat!!!!!

Harju.
Jun 28th, 2006, 05:59 PM
Agreed with most of peeps here. Tati needs this kind of match to boast her confidence and her match against Sharapova definately helped her attitude in today's match.

It's her first match since RG so, I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt for playing three marathon sets. Allez Tati. Good luck against Nicole. It's winnable :smash:

The match made my day!
I had the chance to watch it on TV and Oh! It was really gripping at the end when Tati saved matchpoints! When she broke at 7-7, i was jumping everywhere on my sofa. That's a great result for her to get her confidence back on the track. She did way too many UEs but the game she produced against Sharapova is still here. She just needs matches.
I am optimistic for her next match against Pratt.
Allez Tat!!! :bounce: (her apparently brand new nickname  )

THe problem is always the same .. She chokes ..
I knew she will lose the second set when she won the first, and she looked desperate in the 3rd .. Tati always does the same mistake but she doesn't look to work at it so now tati you must work on your mental ... That's really too sad but now it's a habbit !
Every time she loses like this i'm saying : She's learning, she won't do it the first time with experience .. But now she has lost like this more than 10 times .. So dunno ...
..
..
Whatever she played two matches and won one so that's cool for a comeback .. But now Tati isn't allowed to do this anymore .

Good luck in Cincinnati and i hope we'll show her cheering for her FedCup friends .

No in the 2nd Tati choked ( expected ) and played bad. And Pratt was yelling like a man in some moments like if he was playing THE match of his career.. lol
But now If Mary doesn't play FedCup, Georges Goven will have to choose (after Amé) between Tati, Nath ( who lost 1st round) ..

Jun 29th, 2006, 05:09 PM
well, it was only a small choke then. :) i followed the 3rd set and it seemed that tati never really had a chance to break serve so i thought that pratt was playing well also.

i assume tati wants to play fed cup but i'm a little afraid. if she does, she'll have to play on 3 different surfaces on 4 weeks. :scared:

Pratt was extremely beatable, so a disappointing result. Unfortunately, I couldn't follow live scores. Elena's marathon was going on.

Last year, Pratt pushed Venus in the 2R, so I guess she might be okay on grass.

I'm pretty saddened by this loss, especially if she had her chances, but it's no biggie. I didn't expect much out of this tourney.

Kick ass on the hardcourts, Tati! :rocker2:

Tati's gonna train much and when she'll be fitter she's gonna do some damages on the hardcourts. Can't wait for the FedCup (if she plays) and Cincinnati !
Hopefully she just sees the good side of her comeback .
