Probably no fed cup as that would be my rest time and time for off tennis commitments/projects. If i had any that is. I am assuming im a top player because thats what i would want to be if i was a tennis player and what i would strive for.

I think its a smart schedule with plenty of rest and im definatly not one who would overplay.

Andrew..
Jun 15th, 2006, 01:29 PM
It really depends on what a player's ranking is. If it's a scrub top 100 player who makes it through qualifying less than half the time, then you're going to play more tournaments than a top 10, or even top 20 player, who makes it deep into tournament draws regularly.

If I was a top 20 player, I'd play the following tournaments.

1. Sydney
2. Australian Open
3. Tokyo
4. Dubai
5. Indian Wells
6. Miami
7. Berlin
8. Rome
9. Roland Garros
10. Birmingham
11. Wimbledon
12. Los Angeles
13. Carlsbad
14. Canadian Open
15. New Haven
16. US Open
17. Moscow
18. Zurich

I think all tier I's should be required for all players, with each having one opt-out, in exchange for playing one lower tier event.

I like this from the ATP thread of the same name. For us guys...

Aussie Open - of course, I don't need tune-ups - you idiot
Dubai Duty Free - Mo Money
Las Vegas - Come on, anybody that's been to Vegas would play this tourney
STOP ASKING ME TO PLAY INDIAN WELLS - NOT HAPPENING lol

NASDAQ - Gotta play my home state tourney
Monte Carlo - I become the 1st American male to beat all spanish players in route to win!!!
Rome - I'll play it just to go to Rome. This is probably where I lose early for staying out too late partying. The media calls me a 1-hit wonder.
French Open - Another early loss. Met some French groupie chick. We have madd passionate sex all nite. Can't find my strength during the match
Wimbledon - I cry racism when the Wimby officials don't allow me to wear doo-rag & shorts hanging off my butt

Los Angeles - I just love this city. Can't seem to find Halle
Washington - Another city I love. All the blackness causes another 1st round loss
Canada - Refocused & rejuvenated, I hire John McEnroe as coach. My game is back.

US Open - Call me a slam winner baby - defeating Federer in the final. I have Mcenroe send Mirka flowers, candy, chocolate, pictures of me shirtless, etc. throughout the match. Federer gets furious & loses focus.

Beijing - Gotta show some love to Yao Ming's people.

Madrid - I play this tourney before leaving to go on tour with Beyonce. I "comfort" her to help her endure the break-up with Jay-Z.

Tour threatens to fine me if I don't return, but I hire Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton to cry foul & turn it into a international crime against humanity. lol

Masters Cup - At the last minute, I decide to play this tourney. No longer need to comfort Beyonce because Serena has finally agreed to go out with me. My year is a dream!!!

Great idea for a thread, its interesting to see the type and amount of tournaments people would choose.

thank you MightyMashaFan. after creating this thread, i do realise that it's pretty taxing for the players.

I would play as many joint tournaments as I can with the boys. The liklihood of me losing in the early rounds is high. I might as well have some fun with the boys.

would be one of those players who mostly wins, but plays fewer tournaments. the season is too long and some players play too much and have nothing to give at the end of the year. would play only 15 tournaments a year:

1.(Hopman Cup)
2. australian open
3. dubai
4. indian wells
5. miami
6. berlin

12. us open
13. beijing
14. moscow
15. YEC

to me this would be a perfect schedule!
