I love Nelly. I love Timbaland. I love them together.

My faves are

Afraid.
Say it Right.
Pretty much the whole thing, especially Tim's. :worship:
In God's Hand had a great Potential.

Te Busque is HORRID, though.

OMG! I agree on all points. Tim is indeed a legend. (He's called Tim afterall) ;)

He's basically, a genius. Afrodisiac and Loose are my favourite productions from him I think. :D

Not to spoil the fun, but I couldn't disagree more. I think she is totally talentless and a sellout. As for Timbaland, he should stay in the studio, and away from the microphone.

But enough of that. I'll let you have your fun. :D

I think she is totally talentless and a sellout.

You may not like her music, but saying she's talentless is a bit harsh, don't you think? With 2 critically acclaimed albums and a third one an imediate hit there has to be something there, hasn't there? Especially as she's doing most her own work.

Oh and I do love the album. I'm actually listening it just now. :wavey:

Incidentaly I heard Afraid on the radio yesterday. Does that mean that is the next single?

Oooh I agree! :bounce: I bought the cd last Friday and have been listening to it ever since

My favourites so far are:

Maneater
Afraid
Glow
Te Busque (although I don't really like the little "rap"/talking bit she does towards the end of the song, a bit cheesy...)
Say It Right
Do It
Somebody To Love
All Good Things (Come To An End)

But they aren't any tracks that I dislike so all in all a very good album in my opinion, love it! :bounce: :D

Is it because she has a more hip-hop sound now?

Nope. It's cuz she can't dress, can't sing, can't dance, & can't keep her hands out of her hair (which is apparently the go to move for the sexiness-challenged hip-pop-tart gal on the go) :p

But don't take my word for it-

I am listening to it right now but I don't think it's jaw-dropping. I'll probably have to listen to the album about 4 or 5 times to decide if it is good or just average. It could be one of those albums which doesn't have any standout moments but has a consistently interesting sound all the way through.

CoryAnnAvants#1
Jun 15th, 2006, 05:25 PM
I'm pretty convinced that the difference in sound between this new album and the previous two is entirely due to her record label.

Nelly recorded her first two albums with Dreamworks, who she constantly praised and said they allowed her to do whatever she wanted. Dreamworks eventually folded and she was moved to a bigger and more commercial label, Interscope.

Interscope not only gave her a more commercial sound by working with someone like Timbaland, but also sexed up her image. In my opinion, they're making her act far less intelligent than she actually is as well. She had some pretty good insight a few years ago but now just acts like a ditz. Check this out.

I'm not disputing that. I'm just saying you can't dismiss someone as talentless just becuase you don't like them. For example, I hate rap, but I can't say all the gangsta's are talentless idiots.

"No Hay Igual" was released for club airplay back in April. The filming of the video is to target and widen the Latino fanbase. A video does not always = single. "Maneater" has already been released to some US radio outlets, and "Promiscuous" will be released in Europe. There is also a remix of "Maneater" which features Lil' Wayne. Nelly's label is considering adding him to the already filmed "Maneater."
