What is up with these supposed tennis fans??? And you're from England?? Check your facts again buddy. She has been to the finals.
Here's your homework.
1. Report back with the year and opponent she played.
2. How many sets she won
3. How many games she won
4. The error she made on matchpoint.

I'll check back in 30.

Justine's game is above jinxing. Don't you get it. She is not a Maria or Venus. Her game holds up. It stands the test of opponent or surface.
What kind of twisted logic is it to say Justine is not going to win Wimbledon because you want her to win Wimbledon???????

Honestly she is closer from a Wimbledon title than Venus for Roland Garros :lol:really?

both have been to the finals
Venus has won several clay court tournaments and as recently as 2004 she was undefeated on clay leading into RG
Venus has an overall better W/L percentage on clay than Henin does on grass
Venus has beaten the "best clay courter on clay" and Henin has not beaten her on grass

Let's just agree that all things being equal Henin has to go through Venus to to win Wimbledon and Venus has to go through Justine to win RG. And if that is what is required, I would say that Venus is more likely to beat Justine on clay than Justine beat Venus on grass.

Firstly, results on the two surfaces should not be compared, namely because there are only like 2 events on it a year. Secondly, Venus lost to Sprem on grass just last year (which doesn't do much for increasing her "grass" immortality). Thirdly, Venus generally plays lower tiered clay court events and avoids the "Biggies" which artificially inflates her "abilities" on clay. Justine has two SFs at Wimbledon, and a Final: what's Venus' record at RG? :tape: :tape:

1)you can compare, except that is is a bit unfair. It is harder to have stellar results on grass, you are right, since there is really only one or two events to rack up an impressive record.

2)did she lose to Sprem? I don't think we will ever know the answer to that one.

3)venus has seven titles on clay, including Tier 1s and 2s. I believe that she beat Henin in the final of those titles, yeah, I'm sure of it.

her career w/l percentage on clay is the third highest among elite active players and she is beaten just about all of the so-called clay courters on clay: seles, hingis, henin, petrova, patty, kutznetsova. . . yada, yada, yada.

her best results at RG? 3 QFs and one final.

vwfan
Jun 13th, 2006, 10:05 PM
no, you're looking at Venus' hard court record  :tape:second highest w/l percentage among active players, following only her sister!

oh yeah and two U.S. Open titles, and 3 other finals on Grand Slam hardcourts.

hmmm. . .who has a better record on hard courts. that would be--her sister (the one she trails be a percentage point in career w/l record).

let's dissect this statement:

First off there are four events on it!

Secondly, Venus lost to Sprem 2 years ago, upsets happen, Tathiana Garbin (certainly doesn't add to her "clay" immorality!) and Eleni Danillidou for example :wavey: .

Venus played a tier 2 and a tier 1 this year! She played a tier 1,2 and 3 the year before! and she played 2 tier 1's the year before along with a tier 2! She's played the biggies I'm sure ;)

Fourthly, Venus has made three quarterfinals and one final! Thank you!

and lastly, Your an idiot :) :wavey:

How is Venus closer to winning RG than JHH is to Wimbledon when the stats that Spencercarlos posted is as clear as day and true?

How can Venus be a better claycourt player than JHH a better grasscourt player when the above stats show it's not true?

So the stats for the H2H are OK, but when Spencercarlos shows you stats regarding matches on surfaces, then that's not OK? How come?

Venus' best three results at Aus Open: F, SF, QF. She's been close before, so no reason to assume she won't go deep again. She has only lost in the 1st round once at the Aus Open. Justine has exited Wimbledon twice in the 1st round.

Henin got to the Wimbledon final in 2001; Venus got to the Aus Open final in 2003.

Henin has played "born again" tennis according to you since 2003, yet playing the best tennis of career, she only made it to the SF and exited in 1st round; Venus when playing the "best tennis of her career" made it to the F, SF and a couple of QFs at the Aus Open.

So, Venus playing at her best has a good a chance as say Mauresmo--the current champion and the current RUP, both of whom she has beaten on that surface when she was playing her best.

has Henin ever beaten the current Wimbledon contenders on grass: Maria? no. Davenport? no. Venus? no.

So let's stay on topic and think about what will happen in Justine's first round. This is my thought:

She'll lose the first set 6-1, call the trainer for a DOUBLE time-out to take out the momentum. Then when she's trailing a break in the second, she'll put up her hand while the first serve of her opponent, she'll deny that she held it up and will the point but not the game. So that's when she starts playing mindgames with the umpire and will convince him/her that balls that were clearly in by a mile were out. But since her evil French friend Sandra De Jenken won't be in the chair it will not work. So then she'll try to intimidate her opponent by screaming allez all the time in her face, even while the change-overs. But it still won't work, so then she realises that she won't win and when she's down 5-0, 40-0 she'll throw her towel stating that her pinky finger was cramping. And in the press she'll start crying (which she would've by spraying something in her eyes, robots obviously can't cry) and state "If it wasn't for those bloody finger-cramps, I would've bageled everyone in the field to complete my career Golden Slam. But no fear my comeback will be thunderous, allez!!!"

But...

You forgot to finish watching the match (in your crystal ball)...the chair umpire MISCOUNTS the games and it turns out that Justine gets another game. They tell her, she decides not to quit, because she's SOOOO TOUGH! She comes back on the court, wins every game. Creams every opponent and goes on to win the next ten grand slam tournaments without ever dropping a set!

Conchita injured her right achilles tendon in that match and withdrew from every event that year following Wimbledon.

Nevertheless, it does count as a win over a Wimbledon Champ for Justine.

Of course Venus was wins at Wimbledon over a few champs: Masha, Davenport (four times), Hingis, and Serena (though she was not a Wimbledon Champion at the time). Unfortunately she never had the chance to play Conchita...I'm sure that would have been a tough one...

Venus has beaten a sh*tload of players in two games at Wimbledon. Henin has beated (106) Sarah Pitkowski 6-1 6-0, and (19) Conchita Martinez (with a torn achilles tendon) by the same score. Whoopdeedo!

But no fear my comeback will be thunderous, allez!!!"

i think you got what happened after she threw the towel wrong.

she's supposed to break down and cry, and say that she retired cos she can't see how she can win (without sandra keep calling opponent's balls all out b4 they are played), and altho she has said that she is fit 100%, that did not include her pinky finger.

on another note, i love how pple count h2h like, but that didn't count cos so-and-so (sas) wasn't at her peak, or sas was about to retire. i mean, erm, so i can count all of justine's loses as
1) she wasn't at her peak
2) her brains took a vacation
3) her clone robot was playing not her.

so justine would chalked up all wins against everybody since loses dun ever count. i think i should email or tell somebody at YEC that, else they would have calculated justine's points wrongly. and no, it would only apply to justine, not other players, since she is special. as special as the way williams' fans count williams' points, ranking, and h2h differently.

Venus at her best took 2 GS per year. Henin at her best took 2 GS per year too.
In fact. Henin at her best reaches AO Sf, RG W, Wim SF, Uso W. While Venus at her very best year ever AO Sf, RG 1Rd :help: , Wim: W , Uso: W.... Hmm donīt even try to tell me that Venus was more dominant at grand slams on her best year

A reason why Jennifer debunked Venus on the player of the year for 2001 was that Jennifer got better GS performances..... a little hard for you to accept.. oh well :wavey:

Heninīs best year > Venus best year.. as simple as that.
8 titles (2003) > 6 titles (2000 or 2001)
:wavey:

Whatīs next? the IFīs of 2002 with her sister on the other side of the net?
Venusīs 2002 better than Heninīs 2003? :help:

PS. Edited too add more valuable info.I really couldn't care less who won player of the year in 2001 or any other year. It's meaningless. Capriati has three slams, Venus has 5. And once again, Venus owned Capriati when they were both playing at their best.

As for the rest, I am bored, bored, bored. But I'll give you this as my parting comment: AO Sf (beaten by V. Williams-wins six? games), RG W ("the hand"), Wim SF (beaten by S. Williams wins five games?), Uso W (neither Williams present, Kim collapses). her best year according to you! :tape:

Losing 6-1 6-1 to Hingis at the Aopen semis 2001 is any better than losing to Venus 6-3 6-3 Aopen 2003?
Losing to Schett in R1 of Roland Garros 6-4 6-4 is any better than losing to Serena 6-3 6-2 at Wimbledon Sf?

I had the idea somehow that every year 4 GS tournaments are played, just about the same number of tier I, II and III and below events, the same oportunities for everybody, the same pattern year after year. That`s probably you can compare player`s acomplisments... can`t you?

PS. I threw this one because VWFAN had this "sort of idea" that Venus Williams had been much more dominant than Henin.

If you want to make comparisons like that, then Henin doesn't hold a candle to Navratilova/Hingis/Davenport.

Comparing years is STUPID...different players, injuries, draws...etc...

Matches from 2000 are indeed very important to assertain of how strong Justine is at the moment.

Before this year Hingis had an enormous advantage in h2h with Kim and Justine.

---btw the above post from rikvanlooy is an absolute joke. Saying that Justine and Kim combined lead a head to head over Sharapova is obsured!!

So if someone plays 1 GS tournament for the year only and wins it, then plays nothing for the year, then is the BEST YEAR because will end up with 100% W/L record and W/L tourmanent %.

I did not use 2000 as example mainly because Venus did not play all GS events, and its no news that a player that wins 2 slams and reaches 2 Sf obviously had acomplished much more than 2 GS wins a just one Qf.... then i let 2001 be in..
