It's a piece of cake for Maria.

Dani has nothing to defend here OR at Eastbourne. So hopefully she can play relaxed. This is her best surface so she is definately one of the favorites to win the title. BOO YEAH :p

I think Molik has a chance too, cause she can win a lot of free points on her serve on the grass courts, but as a winner I choose Sharapova!

I'll be surprised if Masha loses more than 10 games over the course of the tournament

I'll be surprised if Masha loses more than 10 games over the course of the tournamentPeople seem to forget she was taken to 3 sets 3 times in winning the title last year...

I would hope Sofia but I will put my money on Fran if I had to.

On the other side, it will be interesting to see how young Ayumi Morita does.

She has won 2 Tier 1 ;)
Correct. ;) At least try to diminish her accomplishments with correct facts. ;)

Good luck to Masha. She'll want to do a lot better at this year's tournament than last. Make it a more emphatic win heading into Wimbledon.

Maria will win another tier 3 title....I bet her % of titles that are tier 3 is like 75 :o :lol:As I'm bored, I've worked it out for you - I make it 6/11 (inc a Tier IV) = 55%. She's also won a Grand Slam, Year End Championships, 2 Tier I's and a Tier II, which I'd say isn't bad at all...

Yeah but that fact she even has a tier III is warrent enough for hate.

She's won so much more than the other girls her age.

It's Maria's tournament to lose.

Pova should win if...

1. Her ankle continues to heal.
2. She learns to close out games, sets and matches.
3. She relearns to hang tough until the chair says "game, set, match"!
4. An opponent doesn't hire Tonya Harding's husband...

sharapova has to be the favourite, molik has a chance but it depends on her progress, stosur has the game as well but still isn't consistent outside of australia but the final on clay should have given her confidence for the grass season. hantuchova i think has a chance as well.

i know that maria has a long history with birmingham and that she doesnt like to play the week before a slam. but shouldnt she like try eastbourne, where or the top players or, instead of playing here where, she hardly has any competition

Obviously Sharapova is the favourite for the title, but I would also suggest that Molik, Stosur and Hantuchova will have decent runs. Their games are well suited to grass.
