and Jeu Set Match :D
╔galitÚ sounds much better than Deuce and Einstand (german) :D

 strange how they use it only for Deuce #2 onwards... the first Deuce is called 40-all.... hmmm anyone care to enlighten me as to why? Is it only in the French or other tournies that are held in France also? Or...

I agree Rusik. Egalite sounds nicer than deuce or einstand.

And good point morningglory about how the first deuce at the French Open is called 40 all and then egalite thereafter in that game.

It┤s time to hear "uuuu÷÷÷÷" or what is that funny (and annoying) sound, the french shout all the time. :tape:

Is it only in the French or other tournies that are held in France also? Or... :confused:the 1st deuce is called "40-A", like there is "15-A" and "30-A" ;) (to be pronounced like the letter 'A' in french). "EgalitÚ" is used only after an advantage ("avantage" in French), so from the 2nd deuce :)

Don┤t know for sure, what it is or what it means.

I prefer Einstand, the German version.

At the Rogers Cup (Canadian Open) they say 'Egalite' from the first deuce.

Nice observation! Exactly how different are French French and Quebec French?

Good point Fly. But I would think they only say "egalite" in Montreal and not Toronto. ;)

Jack, let's hope it sounds better than that. ;)

A lot of expressions are different, some words are used in different contexts, we use a little bit more anglicisms and we have a biiiiigggg accent

Last year that mystery was solved when some French posters here assured us that the kids are actually calling out "Allez". I know, I know, it doesn't sound like Allez, but if you listen intently you can almost make it out.
