Visit this page on the Roland Garros Website.

Roland Garros has been the setting of some of the greatest matches of the modern era, involving some of the most legendary - Steffi Graf, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario.

See for yourselves that, in fact, the standard has not gone up. Watch Evert's passing shots and lobs. See Navratilova's unrivalled physical presence and adeptness at the net. Witness the might of the Graf forehand and an athleticism that has no parallel, in my opinion. View once again -- with a tear in your eye, if you're like me -- the warrior of a competitor that was Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario; so much heart, speed and a charisma that you just don't see in today's players. Nobody expected her to win that match against Graf in 1989 as a 17 year-old. Then see the indefatigable spirit of Monica Seles, with her steely intensity and pin point accuracy: aim for the lines when you're in trouble.

Watch 1985, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999

It's all there.

I've followed tennis all those years but it's still a lot of fun to watch again. I'm loving RG's multimedia this year. :D Thanks.

Didn't tennis at the FO start in 2002, when Serena won it?

Mima Jausevec won it in 1977, first and only Slovenian with a singles slam title :worship:
And who can forget those Monica's titles between 90-92 :tears:

 It's great to watch them play, but it's stupid to say the game hasn't evolved or gotten better. It depends on what you prefer.

I can't agree more with you Steffica.

Navra Vs Evert rivalry was so special...tennis has changed since then so much, and
I miss Steffi, Monica and ASV...Martina Vs Iva in '97 was a shock:p

Wimbledon should do the same;)
Priceless Memories

It's really interesting to watch these but even with 2 meg broadband it keeps stopping all the time. Very frustrating.
