My Roland Garros Highlights 27/5/06
This was my first time I had ever been to Roland Garros, here are my highlights, any some low points.
High Lights
Benny Berthet Day
Today was a day of exhibition sets and final qualifying round; Mauresmo, Hantuchova, Blake, Federer and Nadal were just some names among the list who did these matches. It was a good day to interacting with players also and meeting them and getting photographs.
:worship: EMMA LAINE :worship:
The day ended on a high, when I watched Emma Laine practice. I have always liked Emma Laine but after seeing her with my own eyes, I liked her even more. No one was watching her and instead were watching Suarez, Zheng or Paul-Henri Mathieu, so my two friends and I were the only ones watching her. I really like her style of game and it was an entertaining session to watch. Emma randomnly threw a tennis ball out of the court to us. I retrieved it and was about to throw it in and said “Don’t you want to keep it? It is for you” I then thanked her and she gave balls to my other two friends. When she finished the practice session, she signed autographs for us and thanked us for watching. A very nice and down to earth girl, I will appreciate her very much.
Mariana Diaz-Oliva
Another really nice player, a lot better looking than I remembered her looking and I only recognized her by the WTA profile picture on her pass. She was happy to sign for me and seemed surprised. I then took a picture of her with someone, but she turned around and saw me taking a picture and smiled.
Camille Pin
Isn’t it a great moment when you finally get to see your favorite players live? I saw Camille play today against Garbin in an exhibition match. The eye/nose injury from last week in Strasbourg appeared to be healed and Cam fought hard but was beaten 4/6 I think. She was really friendly after the match as well :)
Su-Wei Hsieh, Ai Sugiyama
I finally got the chance to meet Ai Sugiyama at long last after supporting her for 5 years. I saw Su-Wei Hsieh and wished her luck in the main draw and she was really surprised I knew her name  but was really friendly all the same.
French People
The French workers were very helpful and always on hand to help. The crowd was very charismatic but often asked me who players were, which I didn’t mind. French people are cool :)
Eva Birnerova
I have liked Eva ever since Wimbledon 2005 where she lost to Venus in Round One. I have seen her quite a few times live and here she played Skavronskaia in the final qualifying round. She came from behind to win so I finally got to see Eva win :). She is a charming lady and also quite good looking in real life. Good luck Eva in the main draw
Low Points
I have decided that I will not mention any, although there were some
here are my pictures, I know they are terrible compared to east_players and nouf but in comparison to some antwerp ones they aren't so bad... and I decided to share. I will also write possibly a little report about today, the only day I went. I will post more pictures later today, there will more Kirilenko, some Dulko, a Hantuchova, Daniilidou, Asagoe, Arvidsson and some more but for now :wavey: I know they are terrible but I am quite bored... :scared: Well goodbye I am going for a bit now :wavey: Sorry if they are terrible
