LONDON, May 26 (Reuters) - Twice Wimbledon champion Serena Williams has withdrawn from this year's tournament because of a knee injury, Wimbledon referee Andrew Jarrett said on Friday.

The 24-year-old American has not played since she was beaten in the third round of this year's Australian Open.
