this may have already been brought up but the prize money is not equal at the french-the singles champions both get the same but no-one else does

http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/about/prizemoney.html

the total for mens singles is €5 138 560

the total for womens singles is €4 805 640

mens doubles €1 233 920

womens doubles €1 086 200

mens qualifiers €338 560

womens qualifiers €253 920

that is not equality!!!
there is even a difference with the qualifiers where both men and women play 3 sets

Men and women aren't equal. Some would say they complete each other. As far as tennis prize money goes, when the women put in an equal amount of sets to win a match for the whole tournament, then, and only then is it possible to discuss inequality. Anything before that is expecting special treatment, and actually sets the cause of equality back, quite a bit.

Hold it hold it... there are 128 mens qualifiers and 96 womens.
This would mean 96 men qualifiers would receive €253 920 which is exactly the same.
Doubles difference is still there, but maybe only for the winner there's a difference??
