At 25000$ Campobasso, Italy, Babsi Schwartz got back on the winning track. After winning two matches in the quali, former world nr 40 Schwartz defeated top-seed and former nr 31 Cara Black from Zimbabwe 62 57 64. Tough it was on clay which is for sure not Cara´s favourite surface its a good and needed win for Schwartz who came back this year after a long time-out.
Also with a victory started Iroda Tulyaganova from Uzbekistan who also came out of the quali with a 62 61 over Ekatarina Ivanova (RUS)
2nd round match up is now Schwartz vs Tulyaganova

Nice one Iri! I started a thread a few weeks back wondering where she was and now she's returned!!
For some strange reason I thought Barbara Schwartz had retired. Maybe I got her muddled with Barbara Schett, anyway good luck in the next round to both players!

:hearts: Schwartz has such an amazing game. One of the biggest talents I've seen.. it's a shame she is one of the most injury-plagued players ever.
Same goes for Iroda.. good luck to the both of them on their hopeful successful comebacks!

Well, Schwartz has been retired a number of times, hasn't she?
I've seen the girl a couple of times, she's DAMN good, definitely one of the most underachieved players of the latest years, along with Li Na -until she came back-, Krasnoroutskaya, Tulyaganova, etc.
