My comments:
Alona BONDARENKO:
Alona reached her 2nd career wta tour SF at Rabat last week losing to eventual runner up 8th seed/n°76 Martina Sucha. She's now close to break the top 50!
Romina OPRANDI:
What a week for Romina who reveals a A Game in her home country. She qualified for her 2nd tour main draw and then reached the QF at Rome Tier I!!
In the qualies, she ousted 6th seed/n°88 Diaz Oliva and 15th seed/n°99 Sun. Then she performed her ever best victories over Top 50 n°50 Samantha Stosur (dropping only 4 games) and fomer Top 10 n°67 Zvonareva (losing only 1 game!). She fall to 7th seed/n°10 Kuznetsova...with a match point at 5-3 in the last set!! She's breaking the top 100 this week...and can really expect to rise in the world ranking within the next couple of months.
