Same thing happened to me in doubles a few weeks ago, I was at the net, the ball clipped the net and whacked me straight in the eye, and it was NOT pleasurable.

The muscles that controlled my pupil dilatation were effed up for a while and I could only see white for a while

God, that sounds SO painful.

And it happened in her home country, the week prior the one that is probably the most important tournament of the year for her.

I'm no fan of hers, but I sure hope she gets better and is not suffering too much.

Hope she recovers soon... What a terrible accident...

IT is a normal incident to be hit during a tough doubles volley rally, but as pro players, you would think that they would aim the ball away from opponents...

From http://www.fft.fr/strasbourg2006/ :

Can someone translate? It looks like she hurt her nose not her eye??

A double which falls to… conk! (7h34) - Funny of mishap that that to Camille Pine this Tuesday in Strasbourg. At the time of a match of double which it disputed at the sides of its partner and friendly Severine Brémond, the Frenchwoman received a ball in full figure. Wounded more particularly with the nose, Niçoise was forced to give up a part already badly embarked since they were led 5 plays to 2 in the first sleeve by Bychkova and Jans. Let us wish in Camille to quickly find the integrity of its average physiques for International of France.

This happened to thomas johannson on mens side earlier in the year and he had to take like four months off!
Yes, in Rotterdam he was practicing with his double partner Ancic and they were serving and Mario hit him straight in the eye somehow, he went to the doctor and had surgery like the next day.

He returned in Rome, but his vision is still at 60-70% and he has problems with night vision.
He even had to ask the organizers in Rome to schedule him for early matches.
But those fools put him on last and he had to play against Henman under the lights in the 2nd Round and he lost.

Hopefully it's not that serious with Pin.
