Maria might be more suited to playing Hingus than some of the huge hitters, should be a good game.

:fiery: I have come to the conclusion that Maria did something bad in a past life because no one has that many bad draws!

It's not the bad draws I hate (shows the depth of the womans game) it's the fact that Vaidisova, Ivanovic, Groenefeld and Safina all get occasional good draws, (hence why they're ranked higher than Maria who has beaten 2 of them in the last 12 months, and I would say is just as good if not not better than them)

:fiery:

Don't think her knee was a factor.

Does someone know if its somewhat related to her knee?Cecilia - Someone who watched the match on Eurosport 2 yesterday said Maria's left knee was wrapped and she could not push off properly on it while serving. Her serve was unusually poor yesterday as I recall only 59% first serves in (she is usually safely into the 70%s) and 10 DF. Now I have just seen something posted (not official, so I will treat as rumor until there is confirmation) that Maria has withdrawn from Strasbourg where she was already posted as being the #2 seed.

Maybe you can pick up something from the French press and pass along?

Ok thanks
I did some searches and here's what I found:

TABLEAU FINAL. - Deux joueuses se sont retirées : la Russe Kirilenko (23e), l'une des têtes de série, et l'Espagnole Sanchez Lorenzo (65e).

2 players withdrawn: Russian Maria Kirilenko, a seeded player and Spanish bla bla

But it's weird that she's still playing in doubles
Maybe is she staying for Gisela...

It says she's still playing doubles? Well the doubles draw is out and I don't see her name with Gisela in the draw.

And they lost in the QF by the way. :(

Yeah I like it too!Team Dulkolenko was actually a name started on this forum must have been last fall. We took name ideas from different people and the consensus at the time was for Team Dulkolenko.
