Continue to work hard Venus. It will pay off ... if not at RG then at Wimby or US Open

May 21st, 2006, 09:00 PM
I was impressed with how well Venus has played in her two tournaments on the clay. She needs to cut down on the errors a little and she is a serious title contender fo me-she was faultless 1st set Vs Martina 6-0 and stepped it up well in her third sets Vs Schnyder and Jankovic in Rome.

Vee is looking good :worship:

I'm actually feeling good about Venus' play going into RG. This should be an interesting tourney. I think she's gonna go far. She's putting in the work & she's serious about her play.

May 26th, 2006, 08:11 AM
Seeing the results from her previous two tourneys..........she has a great shot at this title. She just needs to keep the error count down.

May 26th, 2006, 12:08 PM
Donnez un coup de pied un certain
âne Venus et faites-les prendre votre nom !

Well Venus has got a really tough opponent in the first round, it's Sybille Bammer who had major succes last year in WTA Linz, she also has got good results on clay. Her weapon is definetely her forehand and her dropshot! What Venus has got to do to beat her is attacking the backhand of Bammer and then come at the net.

Let's start the historical statement like the Eifel tower Williams!

May 27th, 2006, 10:44 PM
I'm cheering my girl on to the Finals against Martina! Historic.....yes.

May 28th, 2006, 12:42 PM
She is as prepared as she ever was going into the French!

She's healthy and working hard.

She's focused and has Richard by her side.

She's the Venus Williams!

May 28th, 2006, 04:16 PM

:hearts: Venus Go :fiery:

Venus had a tough time during the second round, she was down 0-4 and at 4-5 down Laine had a setpoint. But Venus survived it and won the first set in the tiebreak with 7-2. She then played very solid and won the second set with 6-2. Next round is a mouthwatering match with Sprem. Good luck Venus!!!!!!!

I want Venus to win the French Open so badly I can taste it. She really needs to add another slam from a different court surface to her trophy case. The French is her best chance since she's had more time to warm up.

She can win the French.........C'mon Girl!!!

Jun 1st, 2006, 09:55 PM
yeh Venus had horrible 1st set Vs Laine but had a +12 differential W/UE in the second set which is fab. She should be able to beat Sprem in 2- I see her beating Momo in 1/4s and making it all the way to the final then playing Juju-- and who knows- I have a feeling this could be Vee's tournie :bounce:

Jun 2nd, 2006, 02:44 PM
Venus was really tested in this match but she eventually won against Sprem with 7-5 6-3. She showed the combination of defense and powerhitting and at the same time a lot of shots were deep. She has some good form there in Paris, keep it up Venus, good luck in your next round!

Jun 2nd, 2006, 05:35 PM
Scrappy 1st sets but gets through and picks
up her form and keeps moving!

Jun 4th, 2006, 06:17 PM
YEAAAHHH VENUS IS IN THE QUARTERFINALS!!!!! She sure had a tough time against Schnyder but she was very very focused in the third set. She is very tired at the moment but she has one day to rest. And the next opponent will be Vaidisova, who beated surprisingly Amelie Mauresmo. Venus better be ready for this one. Good luck Venus!

Unfortunately Venus lost today. I think she had a good tournament with getting a lot of match play and some solid results with good wins over Schnyder and Sprem. Keep it up on the grasscourts. And for all the Venus fans, don't jinx Venus or predict too much, just take it one match at a time!
