Denmark maybe will win,but I hope China can defend their champions! Zhao Apr 21st, 2006, 03:58 PM i think its between China,Indonesia ,Denmark and Malaysia. Denmark maybe will win,but I hope China can defend their champions! but Lin Dan hasn't been able to beat Taufik i personally seen Taufik tearing Lin Dan apart at the Spore Open   and Indonesia's doubles team is very strong..likely to score 2 points against Denmark.. they have a more balanced team (2 strong doubles + 2 strong singles) than China (3 strong singles) and Denmark (2 strong doubles + peter gade) SARA-GOAT Apr 21st, 2006, 04:00 PM Go China :worship: seawell Apr 21st, 2006, 04:05 PM Taufik injured ,now Lin can beat him! Indons bank on injured Taufik KUCHING: A shadow has been hanging over injured world and Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat but Indonesia are still banking on him. He has been listed as their first singles player for the Thomas Cup Finals. The International Badminton Federation (IBF) yesterday released the list of players for the Finals in Japan from April 28-May 7. World number 11 Taufik withdrew from the recent Asian Badminton Championships (ABC) meet in Johor Baru citing injury, casting doubts over his participation in the Finals. But the inclusion of Taufik had lifted Indonesia among strong contenders for the Cup. With relatively inconsistent players like Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Simon Santoso and newcomer Wijanu Markus in their ranks, Indonesia will be banking on one sure point from Taufik and two from their doubles line-ups to win every tie. Their three doubles pairs are Candra Wijaya-Sigit Budiarto, Alven Yulianto-Luluk Hadiyanto and Markis Kidho-Hendra Setiawan. Looking at the Finals cast, national coach Misbun Sidek said defending champions China and Denmark looked impressive. Both were the finalists the last time around with the Chinese slogging to a 3-2 win over the Danes. “As usual, China have a solid singles line-up and can win all the three singles ties. Denmark will rely on experienced players to pose a strong challenge,” said Misbun. He pointed out that the Danes were playing well under the new scoring format (21-point in best-of-five games). On Malaysia's line-up, Misbun said: “Except for Lee (Chong Wei), all the others players can be unpredictable. We have a chance, if the players can outclass their opponents tactically. “The new format has opened up the race and we should utilise it.” | |
