1: You name it. I recycle it. Aluminum cans, paper, plastic, glass, metal etc. I have bins labeled and lined up in my place and I take the time to wash things out so they don't smell.
2: I try to make a conscious effort to recycle.
3. Recycling takes too much time.

I do :D
Apr 11th, 2006, 08:31 PM
yup, I don't see why I shouldn't.
It's gotten so far that I can't bring myself to throw a can or a bottle in a normal trash bin when I'm abroad or somewhere where there's no seperate bin for it. I end up bringing empty cans and bottles home with me instead.

Well, it's not a choice anymore, we have to. Otherwise we - or our children - will be stuck in a huge pile of garbage without any resources to get rid of it.
But I had to learn to recycle. And it helps to live in a country which is world champion in recycling aluminium. Get's you going to keep that title
Apr 11th, 2006, 08:38 PM
Yeah, we have bins for recycling now :)
Apr 11th, 2006, 08:52 PM
I recycle everything, though if more than two 1.75 liters of empty booze bottles are in the recycling can, I get embarassed and toss a third one into the trash so the recycle people won't think I'm an alcoholic. But that only happens once every few months.
Apr 11th, 2006, 11:32 PM
Yes! I don't see it as some noble duty or whatever. I'm just used to doing it and get mad if people neglect to recycle. :o
Apr 12th, 2006, 12:50 AM
I have started recycling this year.

Yep, mostly plastic containers which are picked up every Monday. My bin was always over-flowing the city left me a 2nd one

I don't, and I know I should. But in my defense, I live in the middle of nowhere, and would probably have to drive 2 hours to get to a recycling center, which would hurt the planet just as much.
Apr 12th, 2006, 06:40 AM
There's recycling bins by the student housing.
But if it wasnt there, I wouldnt be recycling.
Apr 12th, 2006, 08:46 AM
yes i do, but probably not as much as i could
Apr 12th, 2006, 08:48 AM
my mum makes us recycle everything.
but that's cause if we have something in a wrong bag, the garbagemen don't take the bag :p

Ever since I watched the episode on 'Penn & Teller: Bullshit' where they featured the waste of recycling, I've cared a lot less.
Apr 12th, 2006, 10:24 AM
I try, but I'm not too good at it. If there are recycling bins around, I do recycle, but I don't go out of my way to find one.
Apr 12th, 2006, 02:16 PM
LOL @ 45% of people recycling almost everything. Shame that couldn't be said for the whole population.
We try and recycle everything, the only thing that goes to waste is organic matter, except for some odd waste packaging stuff.
I need to get a compost heap. :)
Apr 12th, 2006, 02:41 PM
If I'm honest, despite good intentions, we are too lazy to recycle so I just throw everything out.
Student flats on the whole don't recycle in my experience
Apr 12th, 2006, 03:37 PM
I do. It's a mechanism really. I feel akward and bad when I can't throw my can in the right garbagebag.
At home we really have to recycle otherwise the garbagemen won't take it :p
Apr 19th, 2006, 08:38 PM
Of Course! I live in Boulder, CO and the weird thing is my building doesn't have recycling so I do my own recycling and bring it to campus every few weeks. There isn't a good excuse not to recycle. Get with it!

I always recycle
Apr 20th, 2006, 01:20 AM
I put anything with a deposit on it in the back alley behind my apartment so the homeless can take it. The rest goes in blue recycling bins in the parking garage!!
Apr 20th, 2006, 02:56 AM
I recycle just about every day. Cleanliness is next to Godliness!
