I'm considering going there. What's the price of gas in Cincinnati?

I'm not sure if the price of gas in Cincinnati is going to matter, but it's about the same as what I saw in Florida, SC, NC, Virginia.

Let me know if you come. :)

Go early in the week. You will be sure to see her, since she could lose a match and not play later. And the tickets are cheaper. And you get to see a lot of players if you go early because there are so many matches.

I'm going to try and make it Sat-Sun for the Q Rounds. doubt I'll be able to make the week days though. I was kind of holding out to see who all was going to show up but doesn't look like the ones I really wanted to see are coming........

Word of warning if you're not from the area: take good sunblock and lots of water if you go. Summer in Cinci can be extremely nasty. (And if you have allergies, take your medicine-- the mold counts are almost always astronomical.)

Temperatures forecast for the mid-90s during the tournament. Humidity doesn't look too bad. If you're going, stay cool!

I was able to make it out for most of the day. Saw a couple of good matches and a couple not so good. Watched part of the draw and as I was leaving stopped and watched Serena warming up a little. Looks like she might have drawn the short stick with Myskina #2. It was pretty warm out and I believe it's only going to get hotter.

Does anyone have match reports on Carly and Akgul? What is Akgul doing wrong? She doesn't seem to be improving at all. How about Natalie? How is Miss Grandin looking? Any fitter?

I wrote something about Akgul on the pics thread in GM. I think you replied. I'm concerned for her and wonder what will help and how to help.

Carly... I'll tell you this was my 4th hour in the blazing sun so I'm fuzzy. I remember thinking at first that she belongs in Main Draw of this type of event, not qualies (good player), but on the other hand it was hard to judge because Akgul played so strangely that you really cannot judge her opponent.

I also felt badly because nobody applauded any good point by Akgul......

Natalie looked strong but definitely a bit rotund, with a little belly if that is possible. I kinda laughed thinking that looks exactly like my belly.
