I am sorry about Monique's loss, but the important thing is that she is back playing after suffering the tragedy of the death of her father. Just seeing her name in the draw is reassuring that she is trying to move on with her life. But as with like Monica Seles, it is going to be really hard. And since unlike Monica, Monique had never even established herself at any level of the pro game, it will be all that much harder for her to get going now.

I wish you well, Monique! Don't give up. :hearts:

well done jo. great to see you back on winning ways.

Is Nancy as amusing to watch as i imagine? I really fidn it hard to picture a 41-year old runnig about playing tennis.

If you ever come back over, bring her!! It'd cheer us all up :p

Good luck next match and for teh rest of teh year

First of all I have to say that I made a mistake earlier. I said that Nancy lost 0 and 0 but she didnt, she won a game in the 2nd set. !!!
Lolita won 6/4, 6/4
Berhstein bt Clarke easily.
Carleton bt Baker 6/2, 7/5
Mueller bt Anglin, 7/5, 6/1
Hyndman by Garzon Elkins, 6/2, 6/1.
Those are all the results from todays matches.
Oh, Paul. I am not sure Nancy would come to England. Oh OK, she would. I must admit she is a really nice person and she truley believes that she can do well in these tournaments. I heard that she has not played for a while due to her mother being sick, so she is finding it difficult to come back after a few months off.
Any more questions send me a PM.

Interesting to see Alexandra Mueller winning her first round match. She's a very highly rated junior, who is just 14 years and three months old. Apparently she's about 6 ft 3 inches, but can anyone confirm that?

May 23rd, 2002, 08:26 PM
Blue, I can't conform if she's 6'3" tall. But she possesses tremendously intimidating size for a 14 year old. I've never seen anything like it!

To view her great size, all you have to do is view her junior tennis profile, which is located at www.*****************/Players/M/MuellerA/MuellerAlexandra.htm You won't believe you're eyes! Fourteen? You've got to be kiding! Look out junior girls!

If Alexandra has some real ability, she could be a very dangerous player.

Alex is very tall, 6ft 3 sounds about right. She has a very big serve and a good game, needs to step up to the ball more thought, then she could be damgerous.
She lost to Holly today 2 and 3.
Lolita bt Llona
Rolle bt Berhnstein, 3 sets.
Palme won
Dasso by Krasweski
Carleton bt Hyndman
Moore bt Katia. 2/6, 6/4, 6/2.
Think I got all the results there.
Have agreat day guys :)

Moore bt Parkinson, 6/2, 6/1
Rolle by Palme 7/5, 6/2
Dasso bt Yeasley, 6/4, 6/2
Carleton bt Lolita, 3 sets, I think
Paul, I do not think I will be playing the Grass this year. Birmingham is my "home" club, learn to play tennis there and that was my second home, but still no cance of a WC, probably :(
So, I think I wil stay in the States and get my ranking back up and hopefully, stay healthy.
