One of the things I voted for is more of a hope than a belief, but...

I too think Serena will win the French Open again, maybe not this year, but next. With all the sharp angles she can product her game is just right for the French Open Clay. I also think Maria will once again go slamless this year and possible next, the only Russian that will win a slam this year is Petrova.

Where's the Justine "no mas" at a slam when she is being spanked by another player?

oh I didn't see it is a multiple choices poll :o Here are my votes:

Amelie backs up the AO with another Slam
Jennifer returns to the WTA tour
Martina returns to the top 10
A first time slam winner (Elena or Nadia)
Fran wins a title

Amelie backs up the AO with another Slam - possible, maybe even likely.

Jennifer returns to the WTA tour - no.

Maria goes Slamless - possible, maybe even likely. Her only realistic shot is Wimbledon, or the Belgians being out injured.

Kim & Justine win the Fed Cup together - unlikely because I still doubt both will play. Either one or both will probably claim injury.

Mary stops playing with her hair - no way.

Martina returns to the top 10 - very unlikely, considering the huge gap in points between the top 10 and the rest of the field.

Venus and/or Serena retires (yah, right!) - no official retirement, since that would mean throwing endorsement $$$$ away. But much depends on how they will do at Miami. The AO was more of a warning than an actual test. Now that they know that entering major tournaments waiting for the best after getting little to no match play isn't the way to go, let's see how they react.

A first time slam winner. (Elena, Nadia, Patty, Nicole, etc.) - possible, though not likely. Schnyder at RG? Vaidisova at Wimbledon? Longshots.

Lindsay wins a slam and promptly retires - she will retire, but to win a Slam before she'll have to play much better than she did at the AO.

Fran wins a title - I hope she does, but I feel it will happen only if she enters a tournament with a weak field.

I have no crystal ball, but I am fairly certain the least likely thing to happen in this list is....

Mary Pierce stops messing with her ponytail. Hell no. If that happens I will stop watching tennis as I will be too busy preparing for the end of the world.
