Do you think Coldplay are overrated??

Don't get me wrong, I like some of their songs eg: The Scientist, Clocks but the rest of the songs all begin to sound the same as each other plus they are depressing as... I'm just not as crazy about them as a lot of other people I know are, likewise I feel the same way about U2 :tape: Just find them boring! ;)

Also hate how they blatently copied Kate Bush's genius Running Up That Hill for the chorus of Speed of Sound *grumble* ;)

I'm sure their emergence coincides with a higher rate of suicide worldwide.

I don't hate Coldplay at all, they've written some really excellent songs. I love Clocks and Yellow. But I don't think they're as good as the hype :shrug:

Yes, definitely over-rated. Their latest single (cant remember the title :o ) is the first one I've even vaguely liked and would consider gracing my ipod with. The rest of it is just too depressing and I really really really can't get into Chris Martin's voice.

I find they are underrated. I find they are pretty much without a doubt the best band I have ever heard. Also I don't get why people find them depressing. I find their music powerful, inspirational and uplifting.

I've listened to their music and to be honest it sucks.

Incredibly overrated.

Loved Yellow.. Since then, I can't completely listen to one of their songs.

I like Coldplay but yes, they're overrated. I agree that Parachutes was their best. "Trouble," "Yellow," and "Rush of Blood to the Head" are my favorite of their songs.

Coldplay!!! Not overrated. They do something to me. Listening to their music is just an out of body experience. It's like telepresence. You're taken somewhere else... they're just so beautiful and comforting. And hmmmm... there's some ironic sad satisfaction of listening to their music. Just listen to it in solitude. It's wonderful. They're Gods!

Not at all, only somewhat "popish" band I like, but for good reason, instead of finding their music depressing, I find it soothing and is great for the peace of mind.

Very overrated. Some of their songs are fantastic, but overall, they don't really deserve the hype.

i guess this happens due to coldplay overload.....at start they were so hot and happening..but now its like overdose.

and the lead singer is making claims like we will become the best band ever in the history.

no way, I have seen them live twice in the last year and they were awesome both times, Chris Martin is a real livewire on stage and puts up a great performance

yes. i like quite a few of their songs but i'll admit that a lot of it just sounds like the same thing over and over again. it's good to listen to when you just want to chill out though. and while they might be good, they are far from as amazing as they get made out to be. :shrug:

Coldplay songs are nice for like the first 2 minutes. Then, you want the monotonous irritating repetitive rambling to end and it doesn't and goes on for another 2 minutes.

That is interesting of how something can be overrated when apparently nobody rates it high enough. But the general media and general public do rate them quite high, thus Coldplay is overrated. WTA World I don't think it's that indicative of a "mass audience" as it may appear.

I still think they're a good band and I really like some of their songs, others just like them ok. At least I used to, it's been too long since I've listened the singles from "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" and I didn't even follow "X&Y"'s promotion.
