Well, I think I'm gonna start hating this Olympic.
Reasons:
- Hannu Manninen was 9th
- Julija Tchepalova was 9th
- Janne Ahonen was 6th
- Matti Hautamaeki was 2nd :yeah: not bad

Well, who is left: Kiira Korpi and Elena Sokolova. Maybe they will do something, but I dopn't think so.

Oh there is still sprint in Nordic combined so maybe Hannu? Rather not
Well, ski jump - Janne? Hopefully. Matti? Probbly will be ok.
Julija. Well, do your best girl ;)

Well bad luck for us today, no medals, not even in Snowboarding when our hope Cheryl Maas, unfortunately had two bad runs and fell from the 4th to the 11th position, the Podium were for Americans and and Norwegian...

Also we didnt have success on the 500 m. Speedskating, our hopes ended up around the top 8-15, an American won, a Russian finished as 2nd and a Korean became 3rd, will post the names tomorrow, right now i do not have the time...

Honestly being a a fan also of this sport they do deserve the bronze they were better than the chinese who got the bronze and honestly the silver medal given to the other pair was undeserve 'cos they failed alot I mean she fall at the neggining and then they continue again.................it was good to see them continue but the gilr failed a lot she didn't land any of their jumps correctly she make mistakes and still they got SILVER C'MON :fiery: you can see totmianina pissed off 'cos she just shake their hands on the medals ceremony while to the other pair she even hug them and Maxim :hearts: he was nice to them but they did not deserve the silver and Petrova and Tikhonov derseved the bronze(I think is a kind of payback for what happend and Salt Lake)...anyway that's the way it its is such a shame I like Petrova a lot. and this was definetily thier last chance to get an olimpic medal

Nope sorry mate, you're wrong again..., dunno where you got that from, but Marianne and Henk are indeed together but they aren't married yet, so far as i know...

But i like this pair and i hope they'll marry some day (it'll happen) for Marianne i hope that she'll blaze at the 1000 m, just like Erben Wennemars and Jan Bos are our countries faves on the 1000 m by the men...

Most of our chances lie in the Speedskating at the 1000 m by men and women, 1500 men (1500 women we could have chances as well) the 5000 m for women, and the 10.000 m for men....

In other sports we arent that good, pity our snowboarder Cheryl Maas couldn't make it on the halfpipe (ended 11th) but maybe we can make some stunts in Bobsleighing...

I also follow the Skijumping (am a massive fan), Skiing, Icehockey as well as the speedskating which are the 4 mainsports i watch, besides that i look to other sports as well but not as much by the same sports i named before ;)

Well for Holland it'll be a big day tomorrow, we must win from Italy in the Speedskating team persuit in order to still keep sight on the Gold/Silver medals, it's gonna be real tough, the Italians had the fastest time, but with our team (most probably Kramer/Verheijen/Wennemars) it has to work....

Back when I was a wee lad, I sometimes watched winter sports like figure skating on teevee.

But that was when I was, for 80% of the time, homebound due to illness, and there were only two (2) teevee channels to choose from.

Well, I finally have a vested interested in one of the events. We've got 2 top contenders in finals of the women's freestyle aerials. Jacqui Cooper set a world record combined score for her two jumps, and Alisa Camplin, the two time defending olympic champ, barely got through after not landing one of her jumps.

Another of our top hopes, Lydia Ierodiaconou got snapped. She was in hot form in practice, but during her second jump, her knee, which had had surgery 7 months ago, collapsed. It's all over the news here. It looked quite horrible. It showed her landing, then collapsing on the snow, clutching her knee, and screaming in pain continuously. So best of luck to her.

Well no medals for us on the man 1500 meters yesterday....

Simon Kuipers 4th
Erben Wennemars 5th
Jan Bos 20th (bad race of him)
Sven Kramer 15th (had trouble with his skates just before his race, but good to see that Wennemars and Bos, got quickly to him to fix his problem :yeah:)

Results:

1. Enrico Fabris (Ita)
2. Shani Davis (USA)
3. Chad Hedrick (USA) the bastard said he was gonna win this, serves the cocky asshole right)

But we'll have to shine on the 10 k, our last chance on gold at the mens side...

Womens 1500 today, surely with have chances on medals with Ireen Wüst, Renate Groenewold, Paulien van Deutekom and Marianne Timmer :yeah:

Awww it's always bad to see national hopes fall down and getting injured, wish her a speedy recovery... any news on her injury?
Saw some pics of it, didn't look that great at all :(

Well got the same with the 2nd Dutch team in Bobsleigh, they made a stearingfault, and crashed down on the back, bobsleigh sled on his back for a while with the athletes still in it, stopped when over the finish, was also quite a shock, with such an enormous speed, luckily nobody got injured severe, but they didnt start anymore, they were too mentally shooked....

Yeah, I saw that on replay last night. That one could've been fatal, and I have no idea how they got out of that one, after being tipped upside down for a considerable part of the course.

Well, we got another medal this morning. Alisa Camplin, the defending gold medal winner from Salt Lake, won bronze in the Aerial Freestyle. Good effort considering she had only having 20 days preparation on snow after recovering from an injury.

She seems to be a clutch athlete, seeing as she barely made the final, but then landed both her jumps this morning. Similarly, she won in 2002 with a huge second jump after scoring poorly on her first.

Jacqui Cooper, who set the world record score in the preliminaries, seems to be a bit of the opposite. She stacked both jumps, and its been a similar story throughout her Olympic career. She's won everything else at some point or another, but no olympic medal.

Credit has to go to the gold medallist though. (Swiss girl, I've forgotten her name :o ) She went for a jump with incredibly high difficulty (4.05 - no one attempted anything harder) and nailed it for the win.

It was indeed no fun to watch....

I have to say that Lydia Ierodiaconou looks really cute and beautiful, such a pity that she's injured cuz she's good looking, all the best in recovering to her hope she can overcome this and comeback....

Arakawa :worship: :worship: this was an amazing performance truly blowing but she is not expresive like the others you do not fall for her charisma like in the case of sasha Ira and Elena such a pretty smile of all :hearts: anyway Arakawa is the winner and well deserve it.

I wanted to see a Russia - Czech Republic final, but now i get it as bronze medal match, oh well, hope Finland wins in the final, and scores their first Gold Medal :yeah:

Well Holland won Gold and Bronze on the 10.000 Speedskating for men, a superb race by Bob de Jong a few seconds (like five) above the World Record, he raced under the WR for a long time, but he couldn't grab it, instead he grabbed the Gold Medal, i am sooo happy for him, not only becuz he took revenge for his disastrous Olympics 4 years ago in Salt Lake City (finished 30th at the 5 Km and 15th at the 10.000) also he beat Chad "The Prick Heddick" Hedrick, i hate that sun of a bitch, he's such a cocky person, such a pain in the ass, serves him right for his "hah i will win 5 gold medals these olympics" instead he got only 3 medals and only one of them was gold

Also happy that Carl Verheijen won the Bronze, but what a crazy last race, dunno if anybody seen it, but its probably one of the best and exciting races i saw in Speedskating......

Today we have also chances to go for medals on the final race Speedskating, the ladies 5000 m, hoping that Renate Groenewold, who comes from the province where i live) get a medal, and i hope also that Carien "ijsbeuker, ijsbreker ( icebatter, ice-breaker) also grabs a medal, that could bring us above the 10 medals....

We have 3 Gold Medals 2 Silver medals and 4 Bronze medals now, all from Speedskating :yeah:

Our country is called not for nothing a Speedskate country (though i am not very good in it, i got to weak ankles for it  )
