Hi all

If the WTA introduced theme songs for the players what would you pick for Elena? I was thinking of several possibilities including Van Halen's "Love comes walking in" or perhaps "Jump"??

Regards from South Africa

Well I will have to say Cosa mas Bella(the most beautiful thing) from an Italian singer Eres Ramazzoti it goes something like this:
Cantar a la noche no bastará
Es poco para mi
Si quiero decirte que nunca habrá
Cosa mas bella que tu
Cosa mas linda que tu
Unica como eres
Inmensa cuando quieres
Gracias por existir
In English:
Sing to the nigth will not be enough
Its so little for me
If I want to tell you that never will be
A prettier thing than you
A cuttier thing than you
Just Unique like you are
Huge when you want
Thank for being you (or thanks for exist)

And also this one just because I like Janis Joplin :worship:
I'll say come on, come on, come on, come on and take it
Take it
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby
Oh, oh, break it
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah
Oh, oh, have a
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good
the rest it something refered to a man and lena is not so I just put the chorus

I'd go with the 1812 Overture after what Lena did to France last year. And her returns are as percussive as any cannon.

Craig David - Born to do it, I don't like this song that much, but the title gets close to Elena.

Great idea

Personally i would go for the Belgian group Novastar with The Best Is Yet To Come:

Novastar - The Best Is Yet To Come:

Lover lover talk to me
we've both been here before
takes a lot of time to see
you need less to become more
but not this time

Lover lover come to me
and don't say it ain't so
that you don't know how
you don't know when
there's nowhere left to go

And all this time, evening cries
with no words, no words

Oh no, seems the best is yet to come
oh no, seems the best is yet to come
I'm screamin' it out boy, screamin' it out
oh no, seems the best is yet to come

So lover please don't loose yourself
don't let your promise die
cause you don't know how
and you don't know when
there's nowhere left to hide

Lover lover talk to me
we've both been here before
takes a lot of time to see
you need less to become more

And all this time, evening cries
with no words, no words

Oh no, seems the best is yet to come
oh no, seems the best is yet to come
I'm screamin' it out boy, screamin' it out
oh lord, seems the best is yet to come

And if you need a good reason, I'll give you one
oh no, seems the best is yet to come
the best is yet to come
the best is yet to come

So lover lover, talk to me
the best is yet to come
the best is yet to come
screamin' it out boy, screamin' it out
oh lord, seems the best is yet to come

Or i would take two of my fave songs of The Chemical Brothers, Surface To Air, it's a instrumental song, but i think it would surely be worthwile...

And offcourse Galvanize:

The Chemical Brothers - Galvanize:

Don't hold back!
Cuz you woke up in the mornin' with initiative to move so I'll make it harder.
Don't hold back!
Cuz you think about it so many people do to be cool and look smarter.
Don't hold back!
And you shouldn't even care about those losers in the air and the crooked stares.

Dont hold back!
Cuz there's a party over here, so you might as well be here where the people care.

Don't hold back!
The world ... (they're holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (you're holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (it's holding back) ... the time has come to..

To galvanize!

Come on, come on, come on!

(Second verse)

Don't hold back!
If you think about it too much you might stumble, trip up, fall on your face.
Don't hold back!
Don't you think its time you get up, crunch time like a sit up, the monkey pace.

Don't hold back!
Put apprehension on the back burner, let it sit, dont even get it lit.
Dont hold back!
Get involved with the jam don't be a prick, hot chick, be a pig.
Dont hold back!

The world ... (they're holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (you're holding back) ... the time has come to..
The world ... (it's holding back) ... the time has come to..

To galvanize!

Come on, come on, come on!

(Ooooooooooooooooooh...)

(Ooooooooooooooooooh.....)

World, the time has come to ... push the button
World, the time has come to ... push the button
World, the time has come to ... push the button

World ..

My finger is on the button ...
My finger is on the button ...
My finger is on the button ...

"Push the button"

(Oooooooooooooooooh...)

The time has come to ...

(Oooooooooooooooooh...)

GALVANIZE!

The time has come to ...

Galvanize !
Galvanize !
Galvanize !

My Chemical Romance has a song called Helena... the video is quite disturbing, and, to be honest, I don't know the lyrics...

ah, what the hell

Peter Hammill - My Favourite

In my time I've told a lie or two,
I've been a deceiver, but believe me
what I now say is true.
There's no other way
I can express what I'm thinking of:
You're my favourite, you're the one that I love.

It's a one-horse race,
still I'm ready to place my bet.
I'm a pretty slow starter,
and I haven't quite caught up with it yet.
It seems so extraordinary
that you should care for me.
You're my favourite - how lucky can any man be?

You're my favourite -
will you stay the course with me?

You're my favourite of all time.
You're my favourite, can't you see?
You're my favourite of all time.
Say you'll stay the course with me.

Last year during Filderstadt, Eurosport did a montage that I liked so much that now I can't imagine any theme for Lena other than the music they used in it - the first movement of Beethoven's Symphony no. 6.

Well, for a theme music, which is IMO a song without lyrcs, I would go for the theme of 'Lothlorien' on the Lord of the Rings Soundtrack. Unfortunately all you hear is a synthesizer, but it is such a beautiful melody. Really beautiful to listen to. :)

If we are to choose a song, I would go for 'Some day' by Nickleback.

She Caught the Katy - The Blues Brothers

She caught the Katy
And left me a mule to ride
She caught the Katy
And left me a mule to ride
Now my baby caught the Katy
Left me a mule to ride
The train pulled out
I swung on behind
Crazy 'bout her
That hard headed woman of mine

Man, my baby's long
Great gosh almighty my baby's tall
You know my baby's long
Great gosh almighty my baby's tall
Yeah my baby she's long
My baby she's tall
She's sleepin' with her head in the kitchen
And her feet's out in the hall
Crazy 'bout her
That hard headed woman of mine

Well I love my baby
She's so fine
But I wish she'd come and see me some time
She don't believe in our love, ah
Look whatta hole I'm in
She don't believe what I'm sayin'
Kid look whatta shape I'm in
Huh-huh

She caught the Katy
And left me a mule to ride
She caught the Katy
And left me a mule to ride
Well my baby caught the Katy
Left me a mule to ride
The train pulled out
I swung on behind
Crazy 'bout that hard headed woman
Hard headed woman of mine
Huh-huh, huh-huh

Though to actually walk out to while looking menacing (if cute) you would have to go for 'Fight Like a Brave' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I think this song is perfect, I just added the part in bold
George Michael - Faith
Well I guess it would be nice
If I could touch your body
I know not everybody
Has got a body like you

But I've got to think twice
Before I give my heart away
And I know all the games you play
Because I play them too

Oh but I
Need some time off from that emotion
Time to pick my heart up off the floor
And when that love comes down
Without devotion
Well it takes a strong man baby
But I'm NOT showing you the door

'Cause I gotta have faith...
Mmm, I gotta have faith
'Cause I gotta have faith, faith,
Mm 'cause I gotta have faith-a-faith-a-faith
