I can't believe the #143 made the main draw of a Tier III....in Memphis (same tier) the #97 is the last player to make the main draw. That's like a difference of 50 ranking positions between Memphis and Bogota....pathetic! How could anyone not want to play here...oh well, it's their loss..they're missing out on a fantastic tournament! :D

Last year, she was not commited on the website, and she played in Bogotá. In her´s home page Copa Colsanitas is in her schedule. I think...always forget her on the website of the tournament...

Yay!

Letícia's and Carla's names are in the quali list now

Hope they won't withdraw , cuz that would be... :retard:

I'm quite sure Nanda is playing here, tho her name isn't in the list (I soooo hope that's hapenning with Widjaja as well :o), she might get a direct entry to the MD :p...just shows how weak the field is :rolls:

Widjaja, Cortez and Carvalho should be here too :fiery: :stupid: :smash:. I hope there are still other Brazilian players in the alternates list , that's a good chance to get some few points, especially if they happen to face the Colombian WC's

Vamos meninas! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Stupid Melissa could have got in with her rank, but instead she uses the wc and a possible Mexican to play with that wc won't. Thanks Melissa. :retard: Hopefully if someone else wants to play they make it.

Bogota was allways a weak tournament. Many 75K and even 50K tournaments are better than this.

For most players, this is not the right time to play on clay, just 2 weeks before the big tournaments in US, and there's also the distance...

Feb 18th, 2006, 08:56 AM
I think if WTA want to do a real south American clay series this time of year, they should add one or 2 tournaments.
Buenos Aires would be the best choice IMO, in conjunction with the ATP tournament.

It's not always a weak tournament, but often it is because of the time, surface and distance. But Bogota itself is :hearts:
