by thrashing Su-Wei to qualify, Tammy avoids having her streak ended of playing in every Grand Slam since the 1996 USOpen.

The other long GS streaks -

Schnyder and Dechy are also at 37
Raymond is playing her 43rd straight

The co-Grand Dames are Sugiyama and Lkhovtseva, both playing in their 47th consecutive Slam maindraws.

so technically she is still tied with Sugi and Lena L until they play their first-round matches this week. I wonder if there might be a player from the 80s/90s with a longer streak that i can't think of.
