I wouldn't be suprised if Zheng beat Anna C. Yan prolly has a shot at Dechy, and Li at Serena.

Pretty tough matches, but I could see Zi Yan taking out Nathalie. Yan has been playing awesome tennis lately and Dechy has had little match practice as well as injury concerns.

If there were still quality points, this could be considered a great opportunity for some of them, but now it is just bad luck.

Well. Sadly they can blame this ranking system and the Chinese FED for having a bad draw.
There's no way 2-3 of the Chinese players wouldn't have been seeded if they played a normal schedule.

well if they're as good as you think they are they should have no trouble :)

Faith! Come on, Na Li and Zi Yan are very capable of upsetting their opponents. Tian Tian has a shot too. My heart tells me Jie will win.

I actually give Na a serious chance against Serena. If she forgets who she's playing, she can win, I think.

i don't think they were screwed. most of them, except Sun, have winnable match. Na Li probably be the first player who execute Serena out of GS first round and Peng can take advantage of injured Maria.

I think the aussie girls get these tought draws every year. Also because it's an Australian playing a top player they will put it on centre court, where we all get to watch them be crushed.

it's a random draw for crying out loud - you can't get screwed. Or maybe it's an American conspiracy orchestrated by IBM to bring down Chinese tennis and thus prevent China from becoming the new super power

Mauresmo will beat Sun 6-3 6-1

Zheng over Chakvetadze 4-6 7-5 6-4

Yan over Dechy 6-4 6-3

Sharapova over Peng 6-2 6-1 :tape:

This really seems to be likely! I wish Nat can beat Yan though.

I don't think Masha can beat Peng easily.
But it's most likely Peng will lose to a qualifer in 1R as what she've done in USO.
Just joking!

Zi and Jie have very winnable first round matches. :) :D

It's too bad for the Chinese and the Aussies, but I guess the way to look at it is as a big opportunity... (Hit those nerves away, give it the absolute best... )

On the topic of bad draws, Eleni Daniilidou has drawn a seed again (Schnyder) - she has had horrible GS draws recently! (Sharapova in the 1st round US Open, Justine 1st round Wimbledon, Venus 1st round Oz Open - all last year... I can't remember who she drew at Roland Garros last year)

Yeah I was very disappointed with the draws of the Chinese girls. They are winnable, but still tough matches. I'd expect Sun and Li to lose, and I dont think Peng will get past Sharapova.
Aussies also have very tough draws.
