Venus defeats Mirza but obtains injury
Hopefully not threatening to her chances of participating at the Australian Open that begins in just over a week (January 16), but Venus obtained an unknown injury (back or pelvise) during her exhibition match against Sania Mirza of India on Thursday. Venus won the match 6-3, 6-3 but will not continue in the tournament do to the injury. Serena lost her singles match to Elena Dementieva yesterday, so both are now focusing on the Australian Open.

I expected this...

That's not true, Serena still has another match to play and I don't think Venus has withdrawn yet. There would be no reason for Venus to wait till the last minute to pull out of an exhibition.

I agree, because I didn't see the question mark. I was like what???

She said she wasn't going to (if I'm not mistaken) because she's not playing any tourneys before the Aus Open so she wants court time.

You kinda scared me there.. lol
