It's a real shame, Bartoli was playing some great tennis and should be congratulated on a fine victory.

Nadia's upper leg was injured at the end of the second set. Hopefully she recovers for Melbourne..

Marion :D ;) :bounce:

Nadia :tape: . Third retirement in a row in an AO warm-up. Last year in Gold Coast and Sydney due to butt pain and now this. I guess you should not play any warm ups for AO

I hope that injury is not too much serious, because she play very good last 3-4 months.

Poor New Zealand crowd as well. They got denied a Petrova vs. Hantuchova championship match. :o

I disagree, the way Hantuchova has been playing this week, they are bloody lucky she didn't make the final - she has been terrible!

and Bartoli was playing extremely well today, and had the upper hand BEFORE petrova injured herself. It should still be an interesting final.

Hope Nadia is ok, im sure she still has nightmare of that injury against Venus made in the AO warm up few years ago. Prevented her from an easier road to the top 10...

Good for Marion though!

As expected. :o

:fiery: Nadia always gets 'injured' before GS events and withdraws in tight matches, when losing..

She should just miss Sydney altogether ands start in Melbourne. :)

Nadia often withdraws in the tournaments just before Grand Slams to have enough points for the rankings but to be able to be very in good form for Grand Slams. She always did it before. Hope that's it and she's not injured...

Bartoli is destined for a big year IMO, top 20 and maybe top 15. The way she just bitch slapped everyone at the Dubai 75K last month was scary. She barely dropped games that week.

I hope so! :yeah:
Marion is a tremendous fighter!
I reckoned she could beat Nadia considering how she played against her last year. Unfortunately the way she won is a shame... But she is in the final :D !!!
Good luck vs Vera! Grab your first Wta title Marion :bounce:

Well done Marion - shame you arrived at your first WTA tournament on a retirement, but you're there at last.

I don't know who to root for in the final; Marion deserves her first tour title, but I would love Vera to win the title as it will give her some much needed confidence. I would be happy for both to win. Just have to wait and see..........
