Thats my immeditiate impression.....

Cuz one way a person ranked very low could climb rapidly was for them to beat top seeded players..

Now that rule is no longer applicable, her rise will not be that fast.

Mind you, if she consistently wins then thats another story....but you get the idea rite...

True... But also.. a player with a lot of bonus points gained from one tournament last year can drop rapidly from the ranks if she does not go deep this time around...

Also.. Martina.. has nothing to defend... so that helps a lot... I guess...

I think it will help Martina, because she has always relied on consistency to reach the top. It seems like this ranking rewards consistency for all grand slams, tier 1's, and tier 2's. She'll be fine I think.
