View Full Version : Worried about Conchita's fate in GS draws next year again...

She always injured at the wrong time....it happened after Wimbledon 2001 (when she started to play better), and then now (when she is almost breaking into the top 30 again).

I don’t think Conchita will take care of her body just for the sake of playing for 6-7 more months in 2006, so I believe she will use 2006 as a warm-up year, and then play full-time again in 2007, before she retires (I still believe she will continue playing doubles until 2008 Olympics and try to win the gold medal before she retires officially).

I am just worried she will have some horrible draws again in the GS…

I think she needs the following schedule next year:

1. Amelia Island

2. Charleston

3&4. Play 2 Tier III clay tournaments in Europe instead of playing in Warsaw/Berlin

5. Rome

6. Roland Garros (beat Davenport in the first round…)

7. Eastbourne

8. Wimbledon

9-10 Play 2 small clay tournaments in Europe again, instead of hurting her body playing full-time on US hardcourts (winning 1 title)

11. Canadian Open

12. US Open (beat Schnyder in the first round to take revenge)

13. Calcutta

14. Guangzhou

15. Bangkok

16. Tel Aviv (winning the title)

(I am still worried she wont be ranked high enough to be seeded for GS in 2007…it seems I worry too much about her…but I want her to finish her career on a high note).
